30 Fife St, Dufftown, KeithA truly unique experience made so special by Rose and Patrick. Enter through the beautifully tended back garden into this “secret” restaurant. The decor is eclectic, international and quirky but warm and inviting. Our food was some of the best in Scotland - venison, haggis (yes, the best haggis we had in Scotland was prepared by a French chef!), and the partridge terrine were all spectacular. Don’t expect an effusive American friendliness, but an honest goodness and kindness. Patrick came out after the meal to explain where he shopped for his ingredients and how he lovingly prepared each dish (some of which took several days of preparation). Rose and Patrick made my husband’s sixtieth birthday our most special evening in Scotland. We will absolutely return on our next trip to Islay.

Das Café wurde zunehmend voll und scheint sehr beliebt. Über das Essen kann ich leider nichts sagen, aber die Speisekarte laß sich sehr gut. Schade, dass wir gut gefrühstückt hatten.

Dufftown, KeithWe biked up yesterday afternoon for a fly cup. What a great choice of treats! The lemon cake was fabulous, light-as-a-feather sponge with tangy lemon and a yummy bakewell tart, washed gown with a pot of tea, excellent ?Parking: Bike stands on the station platform beside the dining car were easy to use.

95 Mid St, KeithOur local and a brilliant family run friendly bar. The bar itself is roomy, well decorated, has a pool table, juke box and dart board. They stock a very good selection of non alcoholic drinks as well as alcoholic ones. You can then go through to a recently redecorated lounge with its own bar, perfect for small functions, funeral teas etc. This opens on to a sizeable beer garden which is lovely in the warmer weather.

136 Mid St, KeithWe ordered the pack B for 2 people with special fried rice instead of egg fried rice. The amount of food we got was a lot more than we get back home in Australia and too much to consume in one sitting so bonus is we have lunch or dinner sorted for tomorrow. I Loved the battered dish and the special fried rice was amazing. Partner liked the beef dish. I didn’t get to try the chicken curry though he did and he wasn’t keen.

94 Mid St, KeithFirst visit to Bengal Spice for many years. On hearing it had changed hands and had some refurbishment it was time to visit again. Great experience from start to finish, warm welcome, friendly service. BYO at the moment as licence is pending, however this is not an issue, glasses offered to the table for our beverages. Excellent food, the menu offers the usual suspects and some house specials, plenty choice indeed. Lovely chat with Abdul following our meal, Thursday night is Buffet Night, it comes highly recommended. Look forward to visiting again soon.
