This was a very good, welcoming place with excellent service and excellent coffee. We look forward to returning here to sample food. Very friendly and welcoming and overall a pleasant atmosphere.

Absolutely gorgeous meal. I had steak, which was cooked and seasoned to perfection, mushroom sauce in a wee jug at the side, probably the best steak I've had in years. Friend had the pan fried duck, the skin was crisped to perfection, duck cooked perfectly, vegetables on the side were stunning, especially the sweet peas. The potato Rosti was also THE tastiest. Had to have dessert even though we were stuffed and the lemon curd tart was just heaven. Sweet, tart and served with fresh whipped cream and raspberry sauce. Friend had the pavlova which was devoured with lots of oohs and Ah's. Not been so satisfied with a meal in a very long time. Loved the BYOB and no corkage charge. Staff were so friendly and the chef is very gifted. Will for sure be back and highly recommend if you're here, and if you're not, then make sure to plan a visit. You won't be disappointed.

We visited with a group of six friends. We all really enjoyed our meals and desserts. I had the venison which was super tasty and tender. It is a small venue which created a cozy atmosphere.

We enjoyed our dinner at Café & Bistro very much. For us, the Bistro is in the top 2 restaurants for us during our stay in Scotland. We did a round trip through Scotland July 2022 and stayed 11 days.The side dishes for the main courses are served on an extra plate for the whole table.

We walked round the town first before chosing Cafe Bistro and, for a small Scottish town, found it to be surprisingly good for late lunch. Interesting menu included excellent soup, as others have found, and dishes with fresh ingredients all well prepared and presented. Pleasant and efficient service and good clean toilet. Would have liked to try the evening menu but had to move on, unfortunately. Thanks to all.

Lovely lunch ( opened at 13.00). Food well prepared and freshly made. Burgers fabulous and omelette delicious.

For one reason or another we didn't get to come here till our last evening of our holiday. A shame as we would probably have gone more than once. The food is superb and the service was efficient and friendly. They don't sell alcohol but you are welcome to bring your own which we found really good. It meant you could have what you liked and didn't have to pay as much for a glass of wine as you would for a whole bottle which is normally the case. If you get a chance book yourselves a table.

Very friendly chef and so was the waiting staff, even though very young and new to the job. Food was very good , oly let down the vegetables, which seemed reheated from Sunday lunch. Can recommend the salmon which comes with a really different sauce., also bruschetta with sundried tomatoes was very tasty,
