Super tasty, small but good menu, the dessert was also great. Was very positively surprised. Absolutely to suggest.

Really gone downhill. Surprised how quiet it was at 1pm in Easter hols. The food looked good but was of a very poor quality. Staff pleasant but service very slow.

One of the best restaurants in the area! Lovely selection of dishes and specials with great vegetarian options. Service is always excellent and there's always a nice atmosphere, which is great feedback in itself. Highly recommended.

The food, service and staff were exceptional. If you like Cullen skink - well, this is just the best! Very highly recommended.First time in Burghead and certainly won't be the last.

Cozy, welcoming and warm space with a wood fire and delicious cake! You can even ask for the key to visit a nearby ancient well

Really love this place and I'd give it more stars if they had more vegan options on the menu! I live nearby and I'd come every week but I'm so bored of having the same thing every single time. Even just one more would be great - and one that doesn't involve taking all the things that provide the flavour (cheese, meat, etc) out of the dish, leaving you with a plate of leaves. Everything else is perfect :)
The restaurant itself is clad in timber and painted pale blue, so looks a bit like a shipping container with windows. Inside, there’s a pretty bar with shelves bearing spirits and a counter that brandishes cake.I started with their seafood chowder, a dish that I reckon can separate the menu from the boys. Will it be milky and rich, or a flimsy fish soup? It promised local crab and freshly baked focaccia alongside. In fact it wasn’t milky at all and really not especially a chowder, but as a fish soup, with mussels, crab, a tomato broth and tart vegetables, it was excellent.

We had a lovely dinner here! The food and atmosphere are wonderful, and there’s enough wine in one glass to feed two people ?. I’d recommend it of you’re in the neighbourhood.

Visited the Bothy for the first time today after following for a long time but never had the opportunity to visit. A warm welcome from all the staff to begin the visit was lovely. They were serving a Christmas menu that offered so many delicious options it was hard to choose! To start we both had the Brussel sprout fondue, a fun concept and very delicious way to enjoy a sprout! Followed by (for me) the Turkey & trimmings (my auntie) the sea bass. I’ve never tasted Turkey like it - melt in the mouth and all the trimmings cooked to perfection, the sea bass was also devoured. We weren’t chased out either which was lovely and would highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.
