Our go to for a treat lunch or evening meal. The decor is cosy and welcoming. The food is always delicious and the staff are friendly, accommodating and professional. A good selection on the kids menu also and options that do include vegetables.Vegetarian options: There is a vegan section in the menu with starters, mains and desserts.

I phoned mid week to book a table on the bar level for this afternoon and was told that was okay but when my husband and I got there the table booking was down the stairs I was told to use the ramp and the table was just at the bottom, I reiterated again that I couldn't walk far but they wouldn't budge - why take my booking with the request if you had no intention of fulfilling it? Not impressed. Service very slow although food good when we got it. Will stay away from Sunday lunchtime in futureParking: Yes parking was free but no disabled spaces and people parked squint taking up 2 spaces no considerationWheelchair accessibility: None that I could see

We had a lovely meal with friends here for my birthday gathering. 13 of us. Food was spot on, service mostly great but a few small issues. We booked a week in advance for Friday night twixmas. Were offered 6.45 or 7.15 so opted for the latter. Explained we were travelling and would it be ok to book taxis for 11pm as we noticed that when they closed and we didn’t have plans to go out afterwards mainly due to the time of the year. Not a problem they said. On the phone they suggested we could have a few drinks on the sofa and bar stools around the fire. Sounded perfect. Food was really good, even catered for our gluten and dairy free friend (where they could). After dessert (9.50pm) two of our party asked for Irish coffee and was denied citing coffee machine was turned off ? We were spending £600+ this was very disappointing. My friend asked if it could be switched on again but no effort was made by female waitress to agree. So liquer it was. We couldn’t even take our drink around the fire as it wasn’t on. Was probably one of the coldest wettest darkest December nights. Would have been lovely. We daren’t ask for it on if witching the coffee machine back on was a problem! Shout out to the young lad serving. He did a great job. Thorough, efficient and friendly. We think he’d have switched the machine on for us if it had been him dealing with us at this point. Nothing seemed too much trouble which is how it should be. We wouldn’t let this put us off.

The restaurant is in a country setting. The staff are very welcoming, enthusiastic about the food and very professional. The menu is excellent and the food is fabulous. Portions are generous and prices very reasonable. This has to be one of the best restaurants in Angus, we will certainly be going back.
