I had a rather disappointing experience at The Clydesdale Inn in Lanark. The outside temperature was in the mid-20s, and despite having air conditioning in the room, we were told it couldn't be switched on. To make matters worse, the windows didn't open, creating an extremely warm and uncomfortable environment with over 30 people in the room. What was particularly frustrating was the lack of concern from the staff. We were informed that we couldn't open the fire doors due to regulations, which I know, as a business owner myself, is more of a recommendation than an actual breach. It felt like the management and staff could have made more effort to ensure the comfort of their customers, especially in such uncomfortable conditions.Overall, this experience left a lot to be desired, and I hope that The Clydesdale Inn considers its customers' comfort and well-being more seriously in the future.

I find steps at the moment very painful, and part of the corridor was gloomy. So without good hand rails I felt vulnerable. The hand rail from street to door needs replacing. The food was tasty and good value, and waiter/bar man was efficient. The range of memu is similar to other places in Lanark. The surface of the table was scratched and in a very poor state. Why not cover it with a cloth, or paper cloth? It didn't look clean.

We enjoyed our meal staff were pleasant but a makeover is badly needed. The front entrance needs help badly and the table we where we ate should have been scrapped. There needs to be a lunch menu too.

Visited the Clydesdale on our last day in Scotland and the food and service was fantastic! Had an early dinner and will not need to eat again for the rest of the day!

The food was terrible and service was slow. The place looked dated and run down inside. I wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Went in for a birthday dinner, did not need to book, food was amazing and you could tell was freshly made, venue is recently under new ownership and at the moment lacked personality, however could not fault it at all, staff were greatWheelchair accessibility: Our friend who was with us has MS and there is an accessible entrance with a lift

Returned after my previous bad review and the owner replying saying to give it another go and I’d be entitled to a free drink I’d rather drink someone’s dirty bath water The place is stinking of damp The staff are alright although could do without them smoking at the fire exit n trying to mask the dampness smell with fag reek The toilets are a complete disgrace with no toilet roll or lid and bits falling from the ceiling I honestly couldn’t bring myself to order food as it’s that bad Had a couple of drinks but couldn’t wait to leave It’s needing a complete overhaul There is plaster patches that have been done badly and not painted And the carpets have life forms growing in it The place is a complete pit and absolutely filthy I took a picture of the toilet cause it’s that bad

A really good pub, but if your having a party, book somewhere else! Booked for my sisters 30th, and altho the staff were great, whoever the dj is should be replaced. Said he ‘wasnt well’ and proceeded to either sit with his head on the decks, or sit in bar area. We met him while viewing room, and after saying ‘no problem’ and as he wasnt a rock fan and ‘would get someone else to do it’ as was more a ‘cheesy song dj’, and he hated when folk dont ask for songs, we sent a list of specific songs for the birthday girl, one being her ‘last dance song’ and another being her and her fiances special song, to make sure the dj had it and it got played. We were told at 10:30PM!!! he didnt have her song as he only had spotify! (We found it no problem!!!)He played the last song at 11:40pm after being told party would be until midnight, then made a VERY quick exit before we could say anything! The bar staff said would pass it to management but tbh his whole attitude was offputting and found that hardly anyone got up to dance, and were making comments if he was ‘alive’.The fact that pub maybe had about 10-15 folk on drinking, made the party the main source of income that night!Really disappointing and after being big fans of pub, wont be considering the function room for any future events, and would not recommend it to anyone either.

Had dinner here with friends recently and had a lovely meal. I've seen some bad reviews but unlike an earlier review which was quite frankly rude and defamatory regarding the chef, what we had, chicken with black pudding, flat iron steak, sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble, was all delicious. Couldn't fault the staff either, so friendly and helpful. I don't know if it's different chefs some days or what but we will definitely be back. I agree some areas of the pub are very run down, we were in the closed off bit and it's fine, but pubs are having a hard time these days and unless enough people visit it must be difficult to afford to upgrade. I'll be back to visit soon.

Friendly arrival Seated and offered a drink service with menu Pino Grigio and white coffee ordered and served with food order taken Drinks were good Waited a long while for food Chicken gougons My wife found the chicken full of fat and served with poor quality accessories. Could not eat meal due to poor quality food. Clydesdale Burger Served on a wooden platter I would have preferred a plate The chips looked nice but we’re hard with no taste despite adding salt. The bun was soggy and not eaten The burger itself was quite tasty but overall very poor presentation and quality. We really wanted this to be a place that we could return to for food and beverages but alas we will not be back and could not recommend to others. I now understand why the place was quiet with few others in attendance. Sorry but this place continues to go downhill no matter who is running it.

Was there tonight with my three friends and the meal was excellent! The flat iron steak with truffle mash was the best I've ever tasted. You could cut through it like butter, so tender, I have never had steak as nice as this was. The sticky toffee pudding also went down well. The staff are very friendly and helpful, any time I have been in they are always the same
