First time visiting this restaurant and very impressed. Staff were lovely and the food was delicious and so reasonably priced for the quality and variety on offer. Definetly recommend for lunch and lentil soup. Will visit again.

If you want to experience self-entitled dog owners and an unwelcoming atmosphere, this is the place to visit. Best avoided if you don't like having a big dog in a small space brushing your table with its tail while it's owner attempts to defend its actions.Staff were useless in trying to defuse an indefensible, unhygienic situation. Left immediately.Update to owners response:Lots of assumptions there in your reply. I certainly wasn't rude to my companion, ( not my wife) but I was short with your ignorant dog-owning customer. My companion was totally in agreement with my course of action. The large dog was brushing up against our table and it's tail was sweeping across the surface. So you are totally wrong on this point.Suffice to say that I shall leave it there.

Good was good, service very disappointing. Had to re-request our drinks, which arrived long after we’d finished our meal. We got a perfunctory apology. Our ‘slip fell on the floor and we missed it.’Charged full price.

Great port in a storm after a wet walk, very welcoming, dog and child friendly. The waitress was lovely, brought the dog water and offered her biscuits and brought colouring books over for the children. Lovely food and good hot coffee.

First time visit. I had one of the best macaroni cheeses ever. I opted for a sprinkle of black pudding on top and the whole dish was delicious. Staff were very welcoming and the service was friendly and efficient. My three companions were equally impressed with their meals. We will be back!

We sat next to the chimney, ordered a vegetarian breakfast and tuna baguette. The food is fresh and tastes really nice. Service was exceptional. Very welcoming.

My lentil soup was very salty. My husband had the steak pie and it was so salty that he could not eat it. He returned it and asked for the fish and chips instead. My elderly father paid the bill unknown to us and they charged him for the fish and chips as well as the salty inedible steak pie. We did not know they had charged him for both until later in the day. My father did not say in the restaurant as he didn’t want to cause a scene! We were very upset about it when we found out. Very disappointing all round.

Great staff, food and service. The major downside is the state of the toilet facilities which are in an awful state and badly in need refurbishment.

Popped in today, 1st time, definitely not the last time. From the name and the outside you'd be forgiven to think it doubles as a sunbed place, I thought that, I was totally wrong.Inside its classy and very nicely done out.Very comfortable indeed.Dog friendly and beyond. The dog was brought water and a wee bowl of dog biscuits before we'd even been asked what we would like. Which is perfect because when you have a settled dog you can settle yourself better.Everything is quality, the atmosphere, the furnishings, even the gents toilets were immaculate. The food is quality, no cheap rubbish, no corners cut.Service is probably the best I've ever had. 3 different people looked after us and each were top notch, faultless, made us welcome and just so warm and friendly.Soup and a sandwich I went for, BLT then chicken and rice soup. Absolute beezer, cannot stress how tasty both were. The Mrs had coronation chicken sandwich with lentil soup. Both had a coffee, and all in just over £20 - O was gobsmacked. This is a legitimate review, unbiased and my honest truth. The place, food, and staff are faultless and I mean faultless.Thank you so much for your hospitality today, it was memorable ?

Good food, lovely staff and reasonably priced. It's lovely inside and never had long to wait for the food. I'd recommend it for a tea/coffee or a spot of breakfast or lunch. Excellent!
