Don’t let first impressions stop you! This is a lovely cute pub with very friendly and welcoming staff and locals. Our dog was made at home and the food was delicious. And to top it off, they poured an excellent pint of Guinness!

We went for dinner with our kids after a walk. The food was great and service was brilliant. Food is only serviced on Thursday Fridays and weekends. It is worth the money.

Nice place called in for drink very friendly staff and locals.Did want food but they weren't doing any can't remember if it was just that day or it was to late or they have stopped do food altogether so if your after food call first, if you just want a drink and chat great place to call.

Great wee bar and lounge. Updated review 18Aug22. Glad to see it reopen after Covid and new owners are making a decent go of it including decent food at lunchtimes. Always a friendly welcome and good service. Reasonable priced menu two course £11.99. Great beer battered fish, and steak pie was bursting with filling. Will gladly be back again.

Revisited today March 2022. Had a meal and was delighted. Best fish I have had in ages. Cooked to perfection. Great, friendly service. Highly recommend. Last pub left in Stonehouse. 25 years ago there were at least 4 others. I am not a pub goer so cannot comment on the bar. I do occasionally go for lunch in what must be the lounge. Comfortable place to go for a meal. Always good, friendly service.

Atmosphere and setting was lovely, traditional and authentic. Staff were very friendly and overall service 10/10. Slight draft at table which the staff without asking added more wood to the fire which heated the place up. Food was well presented, we both had burgers. I had the gourmet Scotsman which was delicious and my friend had the classic burger.
