Rang to book a Sunday lunch. Asked for 2.30pm, woman advised it would be nearer 3pm which I said was absolutely fine. Asked for name and how many in party when I advised it was for 2, she immediately advised just head down for 2.30pm and should be ok. Arrived at 2.30pm shown to table. The front part of the room where we were sitting was completely empty with no other diners. A woman then came to our table (presumably the owner) who asked what time our reservation was for and advised 2.30pm, she immediately accused me of getting it wrong and she had said 3pm. She was extremely rude and mentioned 3 times she had a large table of 14 and she could take our starters but would be some time for our main meal, then mentioned the same to the young waiting staff. Another couple came in shortly after with a dog and encountered the same hostility and was again advised she had a party of 14. This is quite a substantial sized hotel and I would have thought a table of 14 would have been easily accommodated along with other guests. The main focus was on this party. I am a business owner and if I treat any of my customers in this manner I doubt very much I would have a business. The food was absolutely amazing, could not fault it one bit and the waiting staff were amazing however due to the rudeness and the challenging manner of the owner I will not be returning to this place and certainly wouldn’t be recommending it to others. Every single customer should be treated exactly the same. If you are too busy simple advised you cannot accommodate. We were in and out within 35 mins. At no time did the waiting staff explain anything. The young girl we initially spoke to didn’t seem to be expecting us and said she would go and speak to someone. The issue was not with any of the waiting staff, the issue is purely down to the rudeness of the ownerFood & drinks: Food was gorgeous. We had the Sunday lunch

Stayed for 1 night on the 25th Feb and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The food was incredible would recommend and will absolutely be booking

First visit. Meeting friends to have lunch. Good value for money. We had the set lunch menu. Four choices on each Starter/Main/and Sweet menu. Good service.Amazing wooden diningroom furniture, much handmade, by the owner. Some Tweed lined wall covering. Tasteful.Two lovely log burners, providing lots of heat!

Stopped for lunch the Hotel/Pub is very well appointed excellent friendly service and good freshly cooked food. Would recommend it.

Well well well I was very surprised at this small towns bar/restaurant/BnB. Was not expecting the stunning interior. I had a wee look around and it's massive too!!! Very deceiving from the outside. Staff were super nice and welcoming. Food was outstanding!! Please order the Scottish mussels and fries ??...now I don't normally do loo reviews but even they were lovely lol!! Fresh flowers spotless and very well presented..I can't wait to come back to Lauder 10/10 Well done guys
Went for lunch, I had Roast beef, Yorkshire puddings plus veg. My wife had Chicken Balmoral and veg. Both meals were very good value, good portions, and very well cooked. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent food and lovely interior. Called in on our way home. Will definitely be back.Food & drinks: Lovely small menu and the food was excellent. Had a varied amount of wines and spirits but I only had coffee which was very good being a big coffee drinker. Thanks.
