My wife and I happened across this bakery during our recent breakfast. Neither of us wanted a heavy lunch, so we decided to try it out. We were pleasantly pleased. The stuffed bagels were creative and savory and the staff was patient and helpful in translating local descriptions for us Americans. Thank you.

The food and service were excellent. Ordered the bross bagel with salmon, poached eggs and some extras and it was well presented. 10/10

Great cafe with a big downstairs seating and play area. Some of the toys have seen better days but none of the kids seem to mind. Perfect spot to have some food and a coffee while toddlers are occupied. Lots of high chairs and a good kids menu (yoghurt and fruit, sandwiches, mini soup etc). Everyone downstairs has children so there is no worrying about noise or little ones being disruptive. There is a space to leave prams upstairs (no lifts to the downstairs area/ toilets) and toilets with baby changing. Cafe has stairs to both levels, and a big step at the front door, so wouldn't be suitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility.Dietary restrictions: Vegan and dairy free options. Staff were knowledgeable.Kid-friendliness: Very child friendly.

I visited this wonderful little cafe in Linlithgow. It was very busy when we arrived, clearly a town favourite for lunch. The still had ond table free upstairs about 12:45 nearing the end of the lunch rush. I ordered a bagel and soup, but they were so popular, they had just run out of soup that day. The bagel was divine! It was toasted with smoked salmon, and egg with mill mayonnaise and gerghin pieces. Yum!!! I also noticed they have some vegan desserts (marked VG), which is nice yok ow for next time. I really enjoyed going there, and would go again. For visitors to Linlithgow, it is in the square with the Linlithgow Cross Well.

I've been here a few times, but I'm very disappointed about the service this time. Tabled was cleared but not wiped down. The seating area downstairs was freezing. Oh, and the lady who brought the food could learn to give a bit better service.

Great place to chill with kids and get good coffee!Aran is a great cafe that caters for both. Nice seating area upstairs with friendly staff, good food & great coffee. They also have a perfect space downstairs that’s ideal for families. I regularly take my son for breakfast, with all the toys and calm environment it makes great time.

We found a gem after visiting Linlithgow Palace!aran is a fantastic small cafe with great staff. All the meals were tasty, well sized and looked good too. I've never had a haggis toastie before but I hope it's not the last time I have one. The soup was a simple meal but very tasty. The staff are very friendly and helpful which makes the experience even better. It's clearly a popular place because it was full when we arrived and still pretty full when we left (after the lunch rush). If you're in Linlithgow and looking for a drink or a meal I can highly recommend aran!

One of the best lattes ever - and a great scone too - in this lovely bright cafe. The owner couldn’t have been nicer and chatted to us all about their coffee beans when we told him how much we’d enjoyed our drinks - it was all so good that we went back for another coffee after our walk. And as though it couldn’t get any better, the cafe had my favourite hand wash in the toilets!

We came here a year ago and had the best soup we've ever had so we had to go out of the way to come back once we came back to Scotland. This time was much busier so food wait was a little longer and staff was busy but if that means more people got to try this place, that's completely okay. The owner even came to apologize for the wait to every table although he didnt have to at all! Well, well worth it!!

Stopped in before catching a train. Welcoming atmosphere, tasty coffee, efficient service, darn good food. The Portobello mushroom toast is scrumptious ?

The best food for brunch in Linlithgow! The closed and open sandwiches are excellent and the bagels are nice as well however they do not come with a side. I have enjoyed the matcha latte and citrus cake which was soft and fragrant. The only detractor would be that the middle tables can feel a bit cramped, we had 3 people sharing a 2 person table and it was not the most comfortable, but they were able to accommodate us as they are usually busy.
