The Ashmaan
25 Mill Rd, Linlithgow Bridge, Linlithgow20/2/24 I sat beside 2 auld dears from Bo'ness when i boarded the bus in Grangemouth & they were going shopping in Stirling & i told them i was going to Stirling too & asked them if they knew a friend that i went about with from Bo'ness & they said that they knew her & her family very well & i told them that she had died & had gone to Heaven & how she got their was by her faith in truly believing that Jesus died for sins. They also surprised me by telling me they were going for an Indian meal & i guessed the MAHARATA yds up King St.& i was right & told them it was a good restaurant, then they said we thought of trying the Indian Cottage which is easy walking distance from the Thistle ctre & i said it was even better & the last time i was in there my food came out, not just hot, but SIZZLING hot?Sorry for diverging. When i left having the lovely thick soup & a coffee ☕ in CHESTERS ? i went into the Ashman well after 5pm & there were only a couple in there. The 3 staff i met & were served by were all very friendly & easy to talk with & you can read my comments on the pictures & the short video BUT one thing i noticed in other photos as well as mine, there seemed to be strong colours of dye added to the food - I might be wrong, but that's what it looked like to me. It was a good idea to have that bottle of Alcohol Gell on the table ?Please be aware - they don't open in the afternoons.

Subway
117 High St, LinlithgowI'm 64, I come from a pub, restaurant background. Came back to Linlithgow for a funeral for the first time in many years. Stopped at Subway and served by Lewis. The salad boxes were beautifully presented and came exactly as ordered. Lewis is professional, friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble - even with my Thai girlfriends requirements in broken English. Lewis I cannot recommend higher - he will go far with his positiv, professional and affable attitude

1 The Cross, LinlithgowMy wife and I happened across this bakery during our recent breakfast. Neither of us wanted a heavy lunch, so we decided to try it out. We were pleasantly pleased. The stuffed bagels were creative and savory and the staff was patient and helpful in translating local descriptions for us Americans. Thank you.

Taste
47 High St, LinlithgowDropped in here in a horrible wet day, met by friendly smiling young staff, offered seating in a very spacious setting, attentive staff took order promptly, from a huge menu, soup and sandwich and a black pudding/goats cheese panini, absolutely delicious and very well priced for a big plateful, would definitely return a great wee find amongst plenty of other cafes in the area

Platform 3
1a High St, LinlithgowTicks several boxes for me. Good real ales and handy for station. Like the departure board screen for the train departures. Saves hanging about on the platform if your train is running late.Wheelchair accessibility: Doubtful.

Beecraigs visitor centre, LinlithgowLovely little friendly cafe. I had the full breakfast which was fabulous. All perfectly cooked. Friends had the lemon drizzle scones which they said were light and delicious (and huge!). Has a nice outside sitting area too for a nice sunny afternoon. Mannerstons Cafe & Farm Shop
1 Mannerston Holdings, LinlithgowThe food was excellent but the staff seemed possibly a little frazzled today. The food was a little slow and our check was not correct but everyone was still very polite. Very forgivable little things, maybe just an off day.

Linlithgow Distillery
Unit 15, Little Mill Business Park, Mill Road Industrial Estate, Linlithgow Bridge, LinlithgowAlyson and Ross are a lovely, personable couple who gave a great tour of their gin distillery business. We learnt about their business’ background and the process of making their gin from distillation to bottling and labeling. It was just the right balance of information and humour. We booked the tour after finding it advertised on Itison, the tour is good value, offering a drivers’ non-alcoholic tour too. Last but not least the gin was great and we got to sample a good range of tastes. Highly recommend

The Lochside Cafe
276A High St, LinlithgowVisiting Linlithgow for a day out and decided to try the Lochside on a whim. All 3 of us went for the BLT toasted sandwich and were in agreement that it was delicious. Definitely the tastiest bacon I've had in a long time. Excellent staff and the unexpected drama of the tips jar being sent flying by a woman's shoulderbag. Highly recommended. The food and staff that is, not the clumsy customer.
