Place very tired looking but everyone friendly, staff pleasant, did not eat here. Was happy that dogs allowed in adds to the ambience. Will definitely visit again.

Four Mary's is a quaint little pub in the main street of Linlithgow. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with a fireplace in the eating area. The food is sensational and could only be topped by the friendly staff. They were getting busy when we were there and yet the staff still had time for a chat.

Fish and chips was great but I made a wrong decision of ordering seafood risotto. It was basically frozen seafood with rice. I don’t blame them cos I was probably the only one ordering it in 50 years lol. They did their best as a pub. I think ordering pub classics would be the safest and best option at the Four Mary’s. Service was great, there was only one waiter at the whole restaurant section. Atmosphere was excellent with a nice fireplace.

We visited the Four Mary's in 1999 and we enjoyed the nostalgia and same wonderful experience this September. When you go be sure to read the menu and learn about the rich history of this wonderful bar and pub. The fish and chips were amazing!

Went to the Four Mary’s for drinks after a walk on a Tuesday afternoon with my wife and 3 month old baby. On arrival at the bar I was asked to wait while the barman disappeared. When he eventually returned, he advised he would only serve us if we both purchased a full meal. I stated we only wanted drinks outside in the garden but was told the manager would only allow us to be served if we purchased food. Avoid at all costs if you value family friendly places.

Last minute booking for dinner and they were able to accommodate us. We had a lovely meal of fish and chips and sirloin steak and chips. Both of us were full, both of us with empty plates. Service was quick and efficient, food was piping hot and delicious. Would highly recommend The Four Mary's for evening meal out.

Just home from a really disappointing lunch at Four Marys. My wife and I each ordered the fish and chips, but everything tasted a little odd. It tasted like the kitchen was using less than fresh oil, which led to everything tasting like other food/having an after taste. The batter on the fish was soggy, the chips were under-done. No one came to check on us so we couldn’t really bring this up to the staff, possibly because we were seated outside. Really unpleasant and very disappointing having read so many positive reviews.

We were seated in the dining area at the back of the (noisy) pub, a room with some memorabilia on the walls, referring to the old days of the house in which the pub is located. This may be referred to as “pub food”, but this place actually serves pretty good meals. Fantastic fish & chips and the sirloin steak was also very nice. The panna cotta and the apple pie with ice cream were equally tasty. Down-to-earth dishes, but well prepared and tasty. Flawless service. Good address for a simple but decent dinner.

Such a fun spot for lunch while in town to visit when Linlithgow palace. There was a lovely, elderly lady, drinking wine with family who provided incredibly entertaining conversation in the background. A fun day and a great lunch of Steak and Ale Pie.

My husband and I are regulars here as we live locally. It’s a lovely pub - great food and drink as well as exceptional service from Ian and the team. Highly recommend - also dog friendly.

Says they close at 0:00 but at 22:45 you are not allowed to come in (even just for drinks).Looks nice inside though. Can't say anything about food or drinks.Update: I suggested new opening times to Google because of the answer of the owner.Next time update the times and this won't happen.

My wife and I had a lovely meal in cosy surroundings the steak pie was really tasty and what really made a difference was the gravy came in a separate dish which you could use like a dip style also the pub has a really good atmosphere and the staff are very friendly
