I was expecting something great.. it’s a lovely location but they seemed to be having some staff problems, there were 7 working but it looked very chaotic.. we were first told a table should not be long, then we were told that it would be at least 45 minutes because other people had booked.. we decided to buy some coffee and a cake to take away and ordered two double shot cappuccinos and some brownies.. £20.50 was the bill!!!! we asked if £7 was right for a coffee and we were told yes because of the location and nowhere else to get a coffee with such a view.. the coffee was a good flavour but cappuccinos lacked foam so they were more like americanos with hot milk, and the salted caramel brownies were a bit too sweet..

Coffee was extremely good and the best we had during our week long excursion in Scotland. We also had our first experience with scones, clotted cream and jam. Delicious! The paninis are ok however otherwise the Boat Shed was a delightful find during our stay up the street.Harry is a natural born host and server.

Lovely picturesque cafe on the loch. But it's very popular so service can be slow and parking limited.

We we’re staying locally at Drimsynie holiday park and saw this just up the lock. So we popped down for a spot of lunch. What amazing place in such a great location.Even though the weather wasn’t at it best we sat outside listening to the rain ?️ pitter patter on the roof whilst we struggled up drinking hot chocolate ☕️and eating at nice sandwiches ?. Whilst overlooking the lock ?Please take the time to stop bye and bite to eat.

Really lovely cafe, beautiful views of the loch if you sit outside, blankets are available if it's a bit chilly. Good quality food and coffee. The staff were really friendly. Parking can be tricky if it is busy but we didn't have any trouble finding a space. We have also had take away coffee and cakes from here too.

Tremendous cafe located right on the loch side. Friendly staff, very welcoming. Fabulous cake and coffee. Aside from the wonderful views, lots of wildlife to spot as if you sit outside.

Lovely, friendly staff. Quick, efficient service. Simple menu, but good quality and great range of cakes. Vegan and gluten free options. Parking available. Amazing view!

Great communication from staff on arrival re best place for alternative parking as moderate car park was full. They recognise the popularity and have begun construction of a takeaway place to help with reducing wait times.Good that they are aware that customers want to sit outside and are willing to accommodate indoor seating first, then outdoors when available to every customer.Staff clearly communicated about wait time in the queue and gave us clear expectations of our visit which was very pleasant. They were polite and handled the constant flow of customers very well.Food however, was ok. The cafe catered for meat and veggies. The highland vegetable soup was decent but the bowl gave an illusion of it being half full, or was it half empty?Very nice hot chocolate, not had a dark hot chocolate before.Great vibes, dog friendly, instagrammable views and even had blankets for chilly days.

What an amazing setting this little gem has, we visited The Boatshed Cafe today, and it was very busy. The owner managed it very well, and we didn't have to wait long.Brilliant service and nice food.

Awesome place, very popular, but we got seated relatively quickly. Some if the best gluten-free carrot cake you will eat.

Meh, scenic and nice setting but not five stars. Ordered two soups, think they forgot half of it and it was served with rather sad bread considering price. The scones were rather disappointing but nice chocolate cake. Parking is limited.

Decided to go here after seeing it all over Instagram but really didn’t live up to expectations. Was a nightmare trying to get a space in the tiny park and hardly any room to even turn. On approaching the cafe, the smell of sewage was extremely strong. I think I remember seeing a sign saying “wait here to be seated” so we waited, then when we reached the till the girl asked us our table number, which we didn’t have because the sign told us to wait. Contradictory and confusing. They were rather busy and full outside but put us on a waiting list to go sit out next to the Loch when a table became available. Decided after our lunch to go back up and order some cakes. The girl on the till was trying to shuffle people about into 2 queues instead of one big one. One queue for if you already had a table and were ready to order, and one for if you were still waiting. So I stood in the second queue as I already knew what I was having and where I was sitting. However; there was another girl making her way through the line and assigning people to tables, so now they knew their table number they were able to put an order in. Big queue of about 10 people and they all started getting served and then second queue of people were just standing waiting. I couldn’t be bothered with the hassle and confusion so just forgot about the cake and left. All over very confusing experience, very disorganised and none of the girls looked if they wanted to be there. Only positive of this place is the great location and views out over the Loch. The cafe itself is gorgeous just a shame about the organisation of the place
