Quirky little school hall, it was full when we left. Food was lovely and the lemon meringue pies ....OMG .... to die for! Worth a visit.

My second visit this week. Went on Tuesday to meet a friend, it was busy but we had coffee then decided to stay for lunch, soup and sandwiches...Yummy. Returned today, Friday after shopping with hubby. This really is a gem of a place, run singlehandedly by Darren? a friendly fella with a warm smile. Food is simple but quality and beautifully presented - cakes are lush. It's off the beaten track, but well worth searching out. It's obvious Darren likes a challenge, he's got the cafe ship shape, (You have to go through the magnificent beamed hall for the loo! ) now I gather he intends to open up one of the balconies in the hall as a reading room/library when he re-opens in the spring. The entrance is round the back of the hall!! ps The cafe will be closed from end December till 4th April.

Went with my family for some lunch but have been few times. We all enjoyed the food - empty plates all round every time. Quality ingredients and tasty menu options. The cakes are a particular highlight btw. Relaxed ambience; cool wee cafe. Dog friendly, which we are particularly happy about - pouch enjoyed the treats. Enjoyed the walk through the 100+ year old hall to the loos. Noticed the eco-friendly refills station. Plaques and bell from nearby churches of interest. Friendly staff and community atmosphere. Couldn't fault it! A hidden gem.

For real coffee lovers! Had a tasty Korean Curry for an early lunch followed by a delicious Ethiopian pour over coffee and a piece of tira misu cake. A real hidden gem. Great local atmosphere.

This was a lovely find. The entrance was a bit disconcerting. We thought the sign for the parking directed us behind the building, but there is only parking at the front. And when we walked in what we thought was the front door I thought we had turned up on the wrong day as we were faced with an empty function hall.We followed a gentleman who had walked in behind us to find you had to go through the hall (or as we soon realised enter through the back of the building) to get to the cafe.So if you go and end up in a hall... keep going... the food is worth it.I had the tastiest chicken pesto salad ciabatta roll in a long time. Often they can be a bit bland with not enough pesto or seasoning. This was a cut above with a nicely dressed side salad. My other half raved about his maple bacon BLT saying finally a cafe that cooked nice bacon really well.Menu was simple sandwiches, toasties and rolls type of thing, perfect for lunch, but while the menu may have been simple what we had was delicious. The selection of cakes was varied. We didn't get to try any this time around but the choice sounded appealing. (White chocolate and raspberry cheesecake, salted caramel brownies, to mention just a couple)And it was very reasonably priced for very good quality.Coffee was very good quality too, bit on the strong side for me personally, but next time we go back I will simply ask for a single shot latte... and one of those lovely looking cakes.

Loved this. Arrived late in the day so menu options were a little more limited but not a problem. We can’t have dairy however they had some good vegan options that covered this off. A vegan con carne and a ham sandwich with vegan cheddar and pickle. Much enjoyed. Look forward to visiting again.

Had an amazing lunch, speciality pour over coffee and cake. Only 10 minutes from the motorway, easily worth stopping here over the service stationParking: Not many spots outside the village hall.
