We are just back from our very peaceful and perfect wedding at the Mill Forge.from the moment we were greeted at the reception we knew we were in for a great time.All the staff were incredibly friendly and could not do enough for us. our rooms were huge and that helped with the coming and going of make up artists and hairdressers.the food and bar was brilliant and served us lovely breakfasts and evening meals along side our wedding day lunch.Everything is done all on site. Room, Food, Wedding, Photos, so beautiful and personal. unlike the wedding factory in town.what a great place thanks to everyone involved

Really helpful staff, both on the phone and in the bar where we checked in late. Gluten free starter, main & dessert - first were both chicken so I only had starter of 2 chicken skewers with side of chips, but dessert was blackberry & apple crumble (never seen that before as g-f dessert - great change from the usual ice cream and or brownie). Chicken & Leek pie special was enjoyed, but sadly the sticky toffee pudding lacked dates and moistness. I enjoyed the Merlot, but no ginger beer or local ales for my companions.Rooms were well provisioned (even iron & ironing board) but no sockets near bed heads and windows wouldn't shut tight so slight traffic noise all night & woken by 7am ?furnice? din across from Room 9.Location really close to our route from Isle of Skye to SW England was a huge bonus - literally 1½ minutes from A(M) road, and exactly halfway on our long, long journey.

We got married at the Mill Forge and WOW what a beautiful place. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and the setting is amazing. Would highly recommend getting married here. We will definitely be visiting again for our anniversary.

Me and my husband were over the moon with how our special day went. Rooms: Spotless and very comfortable.Walkability: Long walk to Gretna from here, about 5 miles!Food & drinks: Excellent food and service - drinks slightly expensive but was expecting that for an hotel.

Went to Mill Forge last week for our sons wedding. Had a fabulous time the wedding was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Very friendly and very good service. Time spent in the bar was great friendly atmosphere both with the staff and other guests. The food was great the chef was the food was lovely. We stayed an extra night. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff at The Mill Forge for helping make our son and daughter in laws day so special.We hope to have a trip back in the summer.

We stayed in the small double rooms which both had a double bed and a single. Drink making facilities, small TV, iron and hairdryer. Cosy and very clean room with comfortable beds. Shower with fluffy towels and toiletries. Evening meals in the main building were tasty and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included with a small selection of cereals, toast with scrambled eggs or full Scottish, all good just not a vast choice.
