Ate in the restaurant today and the food was fantastic. They cater to everyone (vegan menu!) and the service is friendly and efficient. Child friendly with options of highchairs and space to get a pushchair in. The view from the window is beautiful and it's got a lovely dog friendly section too. Would definitely recommend! My partner had the calamari and said it was cooked perfectly and I would highly recommend the teriyaki tofu

Service was great, food was lovely. They did forget our side of chips but did apologise. Very clean. The front of house man was very friendly and made us feel welcome even dressed in joggers as been hiking. We would recommend for a lunch time meal.

Great location right on Lossiemouth Bay, didn't stay here only ate, but won't be returning.Food & drinks: Second visit, this year me and the wife ordered 3 dishes, Cullen Skink, Prawn Pil Pil and Salt n Pepper squid.Cullen Skink was completely flavourless, like water was used instead of stock.Salt n Pepper squid was hard and straight from the freezer according to my wife. The prawn pil pil also lacked flavour and the prawns were tiny. When the dishes were returned the comment from the chef was the flavour was normal, nulled the dishes from the bill and went elsewhere for our evening meal.

Great location, right on the beach side. Great food, though we thought service was relaxed /poor, on a Friday night. Restaurant is large, with canteen type tables and flooring, so we weren't expecting the food to be so good. It wasn't completely full, but no one came to take a second drink order, or to check if everything was good once the food came, eventually. We waited 40 minutes for the starter. We moved table as people left and we were stuck in a corner with drafty aircon, but despite the girls being around the desk area frequently, and back and forth to other people, they never glanced our way so we could get their attention and when we tried to call them, for drinks and the bill, they never heard. A little customer service training would help. The hotel front doesn't do justice to the inside rooms which were comfortable and modern. The views are stunning from the window. The weather was lovely, despite the forecast, and we saw a couple of seals in the river as the tide came in. Would definitely recommend Lossiemouth, beautiful place to stay. Worth waking up early for the sunrise too!!Food & drinks: Good selection of local gins and scotch whisky. Food was actually recommended to us by the Windswept tap room, we were having a drink, but not many places, including the Firth, stocked their brews ?

I'm staying in town, in walking distance of The Firh Hotel & RESTAURANT & found this place on-line. Showing open for breakfast. When I arrived, the front door was wide open & I walked into the dining area where people eating breakfast. I asked a gentleman who was cleaning the floors, about getting breakfast and he told me to sit where I wanted. I took off my coat & sat at a table then suddenly a woman comes out, asking me if I'd ordered my breakfast the night before, if I told anyone I'd be here, etc. She was asking these questions somewhat loudly while walking across the room so all the diners were now staring at me. She proceeds to tell me the place is not open to the public, that it's only for guests of the hotel. I apologized and told her I found them online & everything indicates they're a fully functioning restaurant open to the public. I again apologized and left. She never offered a suggestion for another place to go or even so much as offered coffee or toast.Looking at reviews online, of which there are tons, even as recent as 2 weeks ago, where people said they just ate there, did not stay at the hotel. After reading reviews, it seems maybe my initial instincts are correct in that she just didn't want to serve me, or anyone else she was not planning on.There is no place that indicates it is not open to the public. I've been in Scotland nearly 3 weeks now & this is the 2nd time I've received discourteous service & the other time was in this same town. It's odd at best.

Gorgeous meal last night. The staff were helpful and polite. Food was delicious and spoilt for choice with the large menu. Gluten free options were excellent too. Thanks very much, we will definitely be back again.

We happened upon thus place by chance. From the outside it really doesn't look that great. But it was a great find. Mick welcomed us. Checked us in and served from the bar. In the evening we ate in the restaurant and although the service could have been more attentive, the food was terrific. But the big surprise was the rooms. Very well refurbished I guess not long ago. Modern. Comfortable and with a fantastic view. Should we ever return to Lossiemouth, we wouldn't look anywhere else.

Stopped in for lunch on a busy Saturday afternoon. Surprisingly plenty of tables available. Friendly greeting as we walked in and shown straight to comfortable seating. Ordered up some mocktails which were delicious and then our lunch- toasted sandwiches and paninis all round. Took a wee while to arrive but well worth the wait! Full plates of sandwiches, crisps, salad and coleslaw, almost too much to finish! Great value, a great spread snd somewhere we'll be visiting again in the future!
