The restaurant food was amazing, we had chefs special chicken sizzler which was great! Overall the food menu had great variety of food and good prices.

Spending the night in Mallaig before we catch the ferry over to the Isle of Skye. Had dinner at the pub in the Chlachain Inn, which was exceptional. My husband claims that the seafood chowder was one of the best he has ever had. Superb. My burger was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The bed was very comfortable and the room newly renovated and cozy. Great way to close out a very busy day.

My wife and I visited here for our 1st time on 29th February 2024. It was a very cold and wet evening when we arrived in Mallaig and we were made very welcome to the Chlachain Inn, even though we were about 20mins too early for food service. The live fire was stocked and the staff were excellent and very attentive.When time for meal service began our order was taken and in no time at all we were sitting tucking into our evening meal.We both opted for the battered haddock served with peas, fries and the Clachain tartar sauce. There was a hoice of breaded haddock but I love the crisp of the batter. We were not disappointed as the batter was lovely and crisp. The haddock itself was absolutely lovely, beautifully white, perfectly cooked and I'd believe to be very fresh. The menu stated that the produce and fish are sourced locally too which is confirmed by the quality in taste. We ordered a side of onion rings and dirty fries, which was chillies and cheese and very tasty. Several pots of tea, a few coffees and some soft drinks later we came to a bill around the £40 mark. The time of visit was out of season and we were happy to pay for our lovely experience.The toilet facilities were very clean. There is a mix of seating within the bar and a dinning area with tables.Many thanks for our enjoyable evening.
