Restaurants in Mallaig
The Bakehouse & Crannog
Old Quay, MallaigEven though they were about to close, they allowed us to buy pastries and coffee and continue sitting on their balcony. Despite it being the end of the day, the pastries were still very fresh. I loved the croissant it wasn’t too buttery and it was perfectly crispy. The inside of the restaurant and the customer restrooms were spotless. They accept credit cards. 10/10.

The Cornerstone
Davies Brae, MallaigWe enjoyed a good meal at Cornerstone. Although the dining room is quite ordinary it gives good views of the harbour and staff were friendly throughout. Our bhaji cauliflower starter with a dip was enjoyable as were the nicely cooked fish and chips. Too many peas though! As the small number of restaurants in Mallaig offer pretty similar menus Cornerstone would be a safe first choice.

The Gathering & Lookout
Knoydart, InverieBeautiful rooms, delicious breakfast and the restaurant is fantastic. Cara very kindly opened up just for us on an evening, and we were treated to one of the best vegetarian meals we’ve had anywhere! Better food than the pub

Bloom & Graze Ltd
Davies Brae, Main Street, MallaigSaw this wee place on Google Maps and decided to try it when we visited Mallaig. The sandwiches were so fresh and delicious, the coffee and brownies were really, really good and we got the friendliest welcome on a Sunday morning. Excellent wee place!

The Chlachain Inn
Davies Brae, MallaigGreat find. 3 rooms above pub/restaurant, so technically not a typical hotel. Very reasonable, inclusive of breakfast with good choices. Room warm and comfortable. Friendly staff.

The Silver Sands Restaurant
Morar Hotel, Columba Rd, MallaigWe recently visited this restaurant while staying in Mallaig. It’s hands down the best restaurant in town. The only restaurant where you can get Indian food and also International cuisines. We were very well served by Tuan and Akram. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone visiting Mallaig.

The Terrace Restaurant
Annies Brae, MallaigFantastic food and very generous portions. Very filling. Beef and Ale pie was perfect, with steak literally falling apart as you try and put it on the fork. All food pipping hot. Cheesecake is to die for. Will certainly return when back in Mallaig

Jaffy's Fish & Chips Takeaway and Deli Shop
Station Rd, MallaigJust had a haddock and chips - it'd been a while since I've had a decent one. This was so fresh you could taste the sea on the fish. Also, batter was on point and so were the chips. Good portion size as well - just the right amount of chips.

Jac-O-bites Cafe Mallaig
Station Rd, MallaigThe food was cooked well but you can tell it wasn't high quality food items. Staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of tables. Clean tables but menu needed cleaning.

The Tea Garden
Station Rd, MallaigI've been there twice, in the last two days. Not only are the Chips a work of genius, the Gold Standard and worthy of a review themselves, the 'Pint of Prawns' (langoustine tails) were the best I've ever had, we all had this. Sublime. Not ridiculously expensive and utterly fantastic. Is there better, anywhere? Just hope they've not run-out of them (the World's best seafood), such is the demand because when they're gone, they're gone.
EVERYTHING else they do is really good, as well. Fish and Chips, home-made Cakes, Apple and Rhubarb Crumble with Custard, even the Coffee. Everything.
Easily the best food in Mallaig.
