Situated close to the peer, brewery and village centre with great views south over the lock. Warm and comfortable rooms, loads of space for drying and muddy boots, very hospitable and great plentiful food.

After hiking in from Glenfinnan, our group of four was in desperate need of a shower and a hot meal - beds would be a bonus. We did not have reservations, but fortunately, we met Cara in town and she was gracious enough to accommodate us! The rooms were very comfortable and the food was delicious. The service provided by Cara and her staff was excellent. I cannot recommend highly enough!

We stayed in Lochside Cottage self catering for 1 week. The photos do not do this accommodation justice it is huge!! Wonderfully presented and immaculately clean. The kitchen/dining area/utility room had everything and more that we needed for a weeks self catering. The 3 bedrooms were all a great size and "our" bedroom had an enormous and super comfy bed. 3 toilets, 3 showers including a great wet room downstairs perfect for pre and post indulgence in the hot tub. We loved all the space as a couple but plenty of room for 6. The lounge was comfortable with a large smart TV. The views from the sea facing upstairs bedrooms and hot tub were beautiful. This cottage really was a blissful retreat after a day climbing in the mountains. Cara was lovely, on hand if required whilst respecting the complete privacy that Lochside Cottage offers. We shall be back. Inverie is a special place, where you instantly feel part of the community and Lochside Cottage is just a wonderful place to stay.

This is our third stay at The Gathering and hope very much it won't be our last. The Gathering is a perfect place to stay and Cara's hospitality is outstanding. It genuinely feels like coming home, every time we visit. The rooms are so comfortable and the food in the Lookout fantastic. Thank you Cara for a marvellous stay -even the midges behaved themselves and the weather was incredible.

The "unexpected" part - finding somewhere with such high quality standards, excellent service and crazy-good food in such a remote location. "Welcome", if you're doing the hike from Glenfinnan, it's very challenging and exhausting and worth every step once you get to the Gathering. The rooms were clean, well laid out and very comfortable. The food, my goodness, where do I start with the food. Dinner in the restaurant was fantastic and the Scottish breakfast the next morning was huge and delicious. I very, very highly recommend the Gathering. It is definitely worth the trip.

Walked From Kinloch Hourn over two days so really appreciated this establishment. Good welcome despite coinciding with the ferry arriving with supplies. Lovely spacious room, excellent shower. Very comfortable bed. Dinner in the airy dining room was beautiful. Wine selection limited but this is Knoydart. Breakfast was superb too and the sun shone the entire time.

Cara’s and all her staff looked after our walking group so well. The service, the food, and the facilities were all five star. Would give them all top ratings, and would highly recommend The Gathering for a stay, in this wonderful location.
A wonderful experience - great accommodation, very friendly staff and really excellent food. What more could you want? Also the scenery in Knoydart and an added extra is the brewery next door!! Must go back soon.

Eight of us were met at the harbour as we stepped ashore from the Mallaig ferry and were transported to The Gathering. Four of us stayed in the Gathering Lochside which is self catering. Four other friends stayed at The Gathering where we all ate breakfast and dinner together. The accommodation was of a very high standard and well appointed. The food was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending The Gathering.

We were here for our wedding anniversary and we could not have spent it in any better place, with a better view! We spent the day on the hills and arrived back to a lovely glass of fizz and the hot tub prepared to ease the old bones. We had perfect weather and really appreciated the hot tub and views. The room was really modern and authentic and the hosts were so helpful and kind. They made us feel very special as we had told them we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious and overall I cannot fault a single thing. An effort to get to (Inverie) but holy moly, is it worth it! A walk over to Barrisdable Bay is a MUST. We are already booking for our next trip! Thank you x

Delightful restaurant with excellent freshly cooked food. We showed up in error on the wrong night, having got the dates wrong! We were immediately welcomed and accommodated in spite of this and enjoyed a delicious meal of haggis and scallops and fish and chips, with a lovely bottle of wine. Service was so friendly, attentive and perfect. Thank you. Can't recommend highly enough.
