I wasn’t expecting much based on some of the reviews, but I was really impressed. We ordered Kajoo Masala ChickenTikka and Dharoo Brandy Lamb and both dishes were superb. Very flavoursome and excellent quality.I’m fussy about my curries as I live near Bradford, but Spice India was excellent.

Appearances can be deceptive! Fairly basic decor but oh my, can they provide an excellent curry and extremely warm and welcoming service? The sauces and rices were splendid, we will revisit!

Dinner was delicious especially the lamb Rogan josh, and the tikka masala. The hostess couldn't do anything more she was very friendly, welcoming and treated us as family. We will definitely be back again and would recommend spice India to all.

Went there as party of 3 on Tuesday 19th of December. We were the only group in and we had a great time. The food was absolutely brilliant as was the service. The waitress was really friendly and enjoyed a bit of banter. Nothing was a problem at all. To cap it off, it was very reasonable. We'll definitely be back again and recommend Spice India if you're ever in Moffat .

Please don’t be like us and think Spice India is closed. It’s not on the 1st floor but down the steps below pavement height in the basement. We had a closer look on the 2nd and last night of our stay any by were we pleased we did. We went to request a table for 8.30pm. The lovely lady said it wouldn’t be a problem at this time of year and just call in when we were ready. We got there little after half 8 after having a few drinks locally and were shown to a nice seat. We were offered drinks as soon as our butts were on the seats, and given the menus. There was 2 Cobra’s there in a crack, followed shortly by the lovely lass to take our order. I had, chicken tikka madras, spicy pilau rice, cheese and onion naan. Followed by a nice little ice cream sundae. My wife went for chicken bhuna, keema pilau rice and keema naan and we also added a raitha. We didn’t have long to wait before it was served up, good hot and very very tasty. I’d go so far as to say, it was one of the best Indians we’d ever had. My wife said she’d never ever had chicken as lovely and tender and as tasty as that was. We were both very impressed and will definitely call again next time we’re anywhere near. I had to loosen my belt a notch afterwards and was ready for a lie down. Lovely clean place and would definitely recommend.

Couldn't fault the food or the service but the restaurant was freezing, could certainly do with some mobile heaters to warm the place up, might be fine in the summer but far too cold on a winters night.

Very disappointing food and not inexpensive . Never had to put on a coat before to eat in a restaurant

Poor quality food. Lacked depth of taste. Rice tasted batch made and curry tasted like it was from a jar. Too many cuisines = low quality.

Took our friends to Spice India for a meal. Great service, lovely food and their naan bread was absolutely amazing. Will definitely be back next time we are in Moffat.

Food and place were stuck in the 1980s would never go back and it was totally over priced for the standard of food .My advice steer clear.

Came to Moffat for weekend read the reviews so thought great love Indian food so booked a table for 2 , food was average we also asked for chip to be added to meal and 2 rice only 1 rice came no chips, once I reminded them I could see the boss lady had forgot to add them , they did offer but we where nearly finished our dinner so told them just to leave it, BUT my big complaint was the wine, we asked for a bottle of Rosa wine it came to the table but as soon as I poured it I realised it was low alcohol, said to my husband hope they are not charging me full price for low alcohol wine, at the end of our meal receipt came with charge for £15.95 for the bottle of wine I wasn’t happy as this Gallo wine is only £5 in most shops, that is some mark up on a bottle of wine , I did mention this to the lovely member of staff who I think did mention to her boss but nothing came back to us before we left, They had already broke the seal before brining to table aswell, just be aware if eating here check your bottle of wine before pouring
