Very friendly pub, we popped in during the day as a stop over on the way to Upper Scotland, we were greeted by very friendly staff, and even given a complimentary whiskey from the distillery nearby as a welcome to Scotland!Nice atmosphere, good food, nice atmosphere and staff.

Lovely food & dog friendly stop just off M6We needed somewhere to stop for tea instead of the services whilst travelling home from Edinburgh 3.5 hours so we chose to pull off here, the food was 10/10 they just make smaller versions of adults food for the kids which I absolutely loved. The service was amazing our little boy got given a Christmas pack from under the tree that kept him entertained until our food came. We got 2 adults, a child’s meal & two drinks which came to about £40 which I think is a good price to start but the food quality was amazing! They are dog friendly as well if you’re travelling with dogs. Would go here again if ever up that way!Kid-friendliness: The bar staff or potentially owner but working behind the bar and in the kitchen was absolutely lovely genuinely nice and not fake nice and not annoying either he was so nice with our little boy and let him pick a Christmas pack from under the tree

stayed here for two nights a couple of weeks ago on a mini motorcycle trip before the crazy weather hit the UK. massive car park no issues with security of my bike as it was surrounded by motorhomes.. food was fantastic for both breakfast and evening meal. Richard and his staff are fabulous.. highly recommended will definitely stay again next year..

Stayed overnight in our van conversion had dinner and breakfast. Both meals where brilliant the staff where friendly and very helpful. This is now our regular stop over travelling north.
Dropped into the old stables as a stop over. Good selection of beers, great food particularly the steak & black pudding pie. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely drop in again when in Dumfries & Galloway.

We have visited a few times but last night was our first stay.The room was lovely and comfortable and the staff very friendly and welcoming.The pub itself was busy with a fantastic atmosphere.The food was simple bar food , all absolutely lovely.Having been disappointed by the larger impersonal hotel chains it was so lovely to get what we paid for and a great night out too.Thankyou very much

I stopped here for lunch coffee while on a long-distance cycle. The staff were really helpful and the coffee was great. The establishment is cycle-friendly, there is a nice covered deck area at the back and everything was very clean. An excellent place to stop.

Anyone going to do any sight seeing in Dumfries and Galloway this is a great pub to use as a stop off place xx Peggy and I will definitely be back x c
