This cafe served the worst scone I have ever had / didn't have. (and that's saying something as I'm in my 70s and have had a few in my time. You could build a house with a few of them. Inedible expensive rubbish. It came in a paper bag, no plate and a wooden disposable knife which struggled to cut it. The coffee was served in a paper cup. But was drinkable. Cost over £13 for two coffees and two inedible scones. I am disgusted and will definitely won't be back

Truly awfull experience, visited with friends on a Saturday lunchtime, staff were very unwelcoming and standoffish, hot chocolate had to be sent back as it was served lukewarm. Mac'n'cheese was ok but came with nothing else just a bowl of mac n cheese served in a white bowl. Chilli and rice was horrid.. tasteless, lacked any body and quite sour. The cafe was freezing had to sit and eat with our coats on. Overall a unpleasant experience. Will not be revisiting

This cafe sells great coffee and cake. We had the most delicious carrot cake which we scoffed without coming up for air.

We took a drive out from Dumfries round Glencairn to Moniaive where we stopped for a wander in the late summer sunshine. Decided to pop in to GlenWhisk café as it was dog friendly. It doesn't look like much from the main street but inside is spacious and there is a large outdoor seating area as well. Extensive menu and some specials from which we had an all day breakfast and a haggis and cheese toastie. There were even some dog treats for Glen

Stopped here in the middle of a bike ride, safe to wheel them up the side of the building and store in the seating area at the back. The food and service were great with a good selection of coffees, teas and some none standard items (I had a Tuscan salad) as well as the usual fodder on the menu.

Recommend by my folks. It's a gem of a place. Tardis in true fashion. Cosy, warm and inviting. Fantastic variety of all courses. Bowls of soup were generous portions. I had sweet potato, lemongrass and ginger. Awesome, then a dairy free scone. Going back again. Staff really nice.
