Three Glens High Street, Moniaive, ThornhillWe had a good visit to Piccola on Saturday night. It came highly recommended. The food was good - hot, fresh and tasty.
The service was snappy and friendly. The young lad who served us was nice and chatty.
One small gripe was serving Aldi’s own brand beer. There’s so many good Italian bottled lagers on the market, surely serving a supermarkets own brand at nearly £6 a bottle isn’t the way to go?

The George
High St, Moniaive, ThornhillThe food was pretty basic but edible enough and cheap.
The beer is all bottled but there's a very wide selection, and you can choose whether you want a chilled or room temperature one.
The staff were friendly and attentive and seemed taken with our three children despite the mess they made. I suspect they would have liked our Labrador if he was still with us.
The pub itself is in a traditional style which is really like. If you're staying locally I'd recommend a visit.

George’s cafe
High St, Moniaive, ThornhillA welcome cafe on the road. A very special rest stop, fantastic cakes and welcome form friendly staff. Highly recommended, for families, bikers any and everyone.
