My friend and I have just had the most delicious two course Christmas Lunch At the Bistro at the Brunton. The service was 1st class and the food was perfect in every way. We found no faults whatsoever. The whole experience from start to finish was excellent. Thank you.

Popped in for a light lunch. We usually share a meal due to being small eaters. We chose the soup with sandwich. The server was fantastic and this was the first time that a soup for one was split into two bowls. Still more than reasonable portions. The sandwich was freshly made and filled with the egg salad. The hot chocolate was nice too. Reasonable prices and extremely efficient, fast and friendly service. Will definitely be back. Open good hours too.

On a rare visit to Musselburgh on a Saturday morning we were pondering where to go for coffee. The lady in the wool shop recommended Brunton Cafe. The place was so busy we thought we were out of luck especially when asked had we booked. As luck had it there was a table for 2 free tucked in the corner. Excellent service, lovely cake and friendly helpful staff. We will return.

I recently used the Bistro for catering for my father's funeral tea. I couldn't fault the food, service or communication prior to the event. I would thoroughly recommend using the Bistro.Vegetarian options: Macaroni pies and a good variety of sandwiches.

Now, you may have heard of afternoon tea. The Bistro does an excellent one but have you heard of “before noon tea” a mixture of breakfast and afternoon tea. Started with a Granola pot with Greek yogurt and berries. Tea or coffee (always topped up), orange juice or apple juice followed by… Mini buns with Stornaway black pudding, bacon and sliced sausage (all delicious) Scone with cream cheese then three different sweet treats All presented excellently of a tiered plate. So much food we came away with a ‘goody bag’ Service was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Price ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Book it for a good feast before everyone else does.

5 stars for the food and service. Haddock and chips lovely, chicken burger top notch. The chicken was unadulterated, didn't come covered in a million and one spices or topped with some chilli relish rubbish, it was great, just what I wanted. Nice piece of chicken, mayonnaise, salad and gerkins. The menu said fries and we were expecting the usual skinny things you tend to get when it says that but what we received was really good chips. Nice pot of tea, very friendly and helpful service. Looking forward to returning soon.
