Went for Christmas lunch and it was lovely. The food is fantastic the service and atmosphere are second to none. Lovely warm welcome couldn't do enough for us. Had the roast beef which was excellent and Christmas pudding was the same. Been here a few times and always had a great meal and welcome. Definitely would recommend The Mercat Bar and Grill.Kid-friendliness: Kids have a ballWheelchair accessibility: They are very helpful

Amazing find while browsing the area for dinner on our way back from Edinburgh. Right off the A1 so very easy to find.The food is home made and beautiful, The atmosphere warm and relaxing, the host very friendly, jolly and taking a genuine interest in your day and how you are. Very friendly and attentive staff, this is obviously a wonderful place to dine on a regular basis.Well recommend whether you're passing through or staying nearby

I ordered the crispy chicken wings with BBQ sauce as my starter.. The texture was perfect, the wings meaty, and the BBQ sauce had me liking my fingers clean.I had the Dirty fries topped with beef stew for my main. The fries were cooked perfectly and the beef stew poured over was perfect. Decent amount of beef chunks which apart nicely and the gravy was very flavoursome.It was a slightly pricey, but I did leave feeling really full and satisfied.
Great food and lovely service. Four walk ins with no booking on a Friday night. Made very welcome and had great service. Lovely tasty food with a wide variety of drinks on offer, would definitely revisit.

We did takeaways from here twice per week during lockdown but have never been since it was the Dolphin a long, long time ago. The food was really nice, very good portion sizes and the staff were lovely. We were looked after by Amy who was very friendly. Christmas dinner was really nice!
