Read the reviews, so went for lunch, reviews don t do it justice. Dog friendly. My husband had the creme of mushroom soup and the burger, he says soup was excellent as was the bread that went with it, burger was excellent too, came with fries, online rings n salad bowel. I had the haddock n chips, wow, what can I say, was big and very meaty, we are both full afterwards, so roll n something for tea tonight. I highly recommend this place. Need to try the dinner menu when next down here.???, sorry no photos, we are it all???

Went in as they opened as I had just taken my car for his MOT to the garage opposite the Copshaw Kitchen cafe. Both my wife and I had a ful breakfast toast and tea. Oh boy I don't thing we will want anything else to eat till at the earliest 20.00hrs. Tye breakfast was amazing value for money 2 sausage 2 rashers of bacon ( my wife had 3 ) 2 Ash browns, haggis, black pudding, mushrooms fried egg, beans and a whole tomatoe. Everything was red hot, cooked to perfection, well presented, and extremely tasty. This is a very busy restaurant even at 10 in the morning , very friendly extremely helpful and efficient. There is a open fire in there roaring away to day because of the terrible weather. It is a very very clean cafe, spacious and welcoming with a great atmosphere. Recommended this cafe to everybody oh yes I also had a cappuccino which was just like you get in Italy. This was my far the best breakfast we have had in years.

Food up to the usual standard easily the best option for miles around. I'm sorry to hear the cafe is up for sale just hope the eventual new owners can keep up the high standards.

Cracking little cafe for a cuppa and a bite to eat. Very friendly, helpful staff and a great menu at sensible prices. We always come here if we are anywhere near, you just can't go wrong.

What a lovely place to eat. We met friends and enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch late afternoon after a walk in the forest. The fish starter was really tasty and well presented - as were all the courses. We enjoyed the roast beef, the chicken and the haggis and black pudding stack and struggled to find room for the fantastic puddings - I can recommend the frangipani! The owner was very welcoming and friendly - I only wish we'd discovered the Cooshaw Kitchen beforeDefinitely five ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A family (three adults) vist for evening meal on Saturday 29th April 2023. The food was nicely presented, the fish, chips and garden peas were hot and good size portions. However, my 'Haggis and Black Pudding Stack' was anything but a stack; consisting of one slice of each, overcooked and placed on top of each other, then on top of a modest portion of mashed 'neeps and tatties' with a drizzle of whiskey sauce over (Couldn't taste the whiskey though). For decoration, a few slices of overcooked carrot and some monge tout were placed diagonally across from each other, and a couple of strands of peashoots over the top. The main ingredients tasted dry, as if they'd been kept warm for too long. Finally, as we were settling our bill, a glance into the kitchen through the window in the door, revealed a large golden labrador wandering around the kitchen, sniffing at the plates and utensils on the lowere shelves of the kitchen tables. Health and Safety and Hygiene Inspectors would have had a 'field day' here. We had thought about having breakfast there the following morning, but decided to go elsewhere. And Yes, I do know what I'm describing here; I'm a retired Chef and Hotelier.
