My husband had the creme of mushroom soup and the burger, he says soup was excellent as was the bread that went with it, burger was excellent too, came with fries, online rings n salad bowel. I had the haddock n chips, wow, what can I say, was big and very meaty, we are both full afterwards, so roll n something for tea tonight. I highly recommend this place. Need to try the dinner menu when next down here.???, sorry no photos, we are it all???

38 S Hermitage St, NewcastletonThe Olive Tree is now our go-to place after hill walking by Newcastleton; both for coffee or a meal.The menu isn't too busy but provides a great choice, this includes whatever is on the chalk board as a daily special.For us, the food has been without exception, of fantastic quality - well prepared and cooked and I'm fairly certain made with locally sourced ingredients where possible.Staff are lovely, very helpful and it is actually a very nice place to sit and eat -nice layout and decor.I think the steady stream of locals coming into eat/ have coffee is a good indicator too. The staff know their regulars (I established this through careful eavesdropping) but in no way does it feel like a community centre!I can recommend this eatery very easily.

The Trap
6 S Hermitage St, Roxburghshire, NewcastletonRiding through Newcastleton at 10.30pm on 5 Sept on All Points North 2021 absolutely desperate for water. This place was open. Dumped my bike outside. Ordered pint of lemonade at the bar. Downed in one. Thanks for being open and for being so friendly to a middle-aged man in lycra looking like a drowned rat of a Sunday night. Saved me.

Kielder, HexhamGreat little pub to stop at. Food is good and prices are decent. Staff was very friendly over the couples of days I stayed in the area. 100% a place I will go back too.
