What a gem! Greeted with welcoming smiles and engaging conversations from staff and locals enjoying a drink or two. Driven 6 hours to meet a friend passing through. So glad this was our destination food our food. Menu had more than enough selection of snacks, light bites, staters, mains and puddings. We all ate different foods: garlic mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, crab cakes (starters), double burger, crispy chicken, steak pie (mains). Best steak pie I’ve eaten (England or Scotland), YUM YUM YUM ? All food was served hot and plentiful. Nobody in our party of 4 were disappointed. So plentiful, not one of us hearty eaters could manage a pud! I was so looking forward to trying the sticky toffee pudding!! The bonus…such reasonable prices, great value for your pennies. A fabulous evening, you’ll be glad you popped in for a drink or meal ?

Brilliant atmosphere and staff. Locals were so welcoming and friendly. We dropped in for a couple drinks.. were there till closing. Prices really good, beer garden area massive with an outside bar that is used when events are on. Pub has a schedule of live music, check their facebook for info. Don’t think they do food onsite, but noticed takeaway menu from a linked restaurant/kitchen. Guessing you can order delivery to the pub, not 100% though. Highly recommended and will visit again ourselves.

It was very quiet when I was there. I was unable to buy food but the owner was happy for me to buy at a local shop and eat in the beer garden with a drink. The outside bar looked new and seemed like a great addition to the pub.

Spent a lovely few hours in The Crown Hotel. The beer, ladylady, locals and atmosphere was superb. We were made to feel very welcome. Our puppy Alfie was very spoilt and wants to go back too ? He loves his soft toy Owl and enjoyed his gravy bones too.
