Cafes in North Berwick

“Three Island Seabird Seafari - What a fantastic experience this is, highly recommend! The guides are extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and the RIB is actually quite comfortable. I do understand why the Seabird Centre have flagged up that it’s not suitable for people with back and neck issues, as you never know how choppy it might be out at sea. We’ve been twice now, the first time was on a calmer day so we opted not to wear the waterproofs…but by the time we got out to Bass Rock, safe to say I was drenched and very cold, so 100% recommended wearing the waterproofs - even if you think it’s a calm day, it might not be further out! ?”

“When we go to North Berwick we head straight here for elevenses. Their home baking is always amazing. Sometimes we have a breakfast roll and they are very filling. Coffee is beautiful and everything is served with no bother. Always a friendly and warm welcome that makes you want to return”

“A really lovely place with beautiful walks, gorgeous gardens and a pretty gift shop. The only let-down was the cleanliness of the cafe despite being an army of young staff aimlessly wandering around. We noticed 3 members actively ignore a discarded cake on the floor in favour of unnecessarily pushing in chairs. During our visit, not once did the tables get wiped after trays were taken away. The areas under the indoor planters were littered with crumbs and dust. Suggest better training, management and accountability for front of house.”

“Delicious bacon roll. Pleasant friendly staff. Tea a bit pricey at £3.50 a pot for one. Other food looked really good.”

“Loved everything about this coffee shop! If I were local, this would be my go-to haunt. The large interior has an industrial vibe, and the courtyard outside is a perfect place to enjoy some sunshine. When I was here they had some cold brew, and I was lucky enough to get the last of it with a splash of oat milk. They also had a few bakery items, including a vegan banana bread that was DELICIOUS. A thick, moist slab loaded with nuts and dried cranberries maybe? There was just something "more" to it!As of writing this they no longer offer hot/savory food which they did pre-pandemic; the focus here is on the coffee (which they roast on site). They also have pizza parties every Friday and Saturday from 4 to 7pm. Proud of my "coffee and social solidarity" sticker which I bought and stuck to my water bottle to remind me of the little slice of heaven that is Steampunk!”

“I've lived in east lothian all of my life and visited Merryhatton garden centre for the first time today and I'll definitely be back, what a great place! We had some food in the cafe and the paninis are awesome, if you like bacon brie and cranberry I can honestly say this was the best I've ever had, my wife had a lovely latte with some cake, the service was second to none and everyone was very polite and helpful, what a refreshing place, highly recommend!”
