Norries is always good. I sat in this time, the set up is fairly typical chippy cafe but very clean and organised. The staff are very friendly and clearly know their regulars well. Highly recommend Norries food. Marvellous!

Chose this fish and chip shop as recommended by Gordon Ramsey and friends. I don’t think they could have got what we were served. Spongy, greasy batter. Mushy bland haddock. I do not recommend this shop, there are at least 2 better fish and chip shops in the town.

Absolutely the best fish & Chips in Scotland, all very fresh, well presented and so tasty , also very friendly staff . Actually staff that give a dam , they interact with locals , tourists and and passers bye. Sit in or takeaway all cooked to order and well prices . Shout out to Anthony and I think it was Mary for helping out a few wayward tourists during storm Babet.

I’m a Canadian traveller, first time in Oban. Nories hit the spot. Great fish and chips, personally had the haddock and I recommend having it with vinegar. The hostess greeted me as I walked in and gave me her recommendations. Anthony (appeared to be owner/head chef) asked during my meal if I enjoyed it, and was a delight to speak to after. Such a pleasant and welcoming experience. Thank you!

Ordered fish cake and chips, after a few locals recommend Nories as the best. The chips were cooked perfectly and the fish cake was tasty, soft in the middle and crunchy on the outside.

Had such a lovely experience at Nories recently. Was there with a group of pupils returning from a residential trip a few weeks ago, after we missed our train. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Completed our long order list of requests with a smile on their faces and even threw in a free juice for each pupil! And the chips were so tasty, really delicious! Would highly recommend! Thanks so much to all the staff involved for helping us survive and enjoy an unplanned afternoon in Oban!

Absolutely amazing food. I didn't like that there was a three pound fee added though for eating in and which I was not told about. We opted to eat in because it was raining. We didn't have five star service though, we just had our food brought out to us in a paper tray. We had to take up our cutlery and throw our rubbish in the bin. As I say, amazing food but never heard of paying a fee to sit in and wait on myself. If not for this I would have given five stars.

The fish was tasteless and batter was soggy! Asked for lightly batter he said why, it will come out really thin! What happened to customers always right and if we are eating it and paying should be how we want it! Chips taste of oil! Would not recommend.

Visiting from the US for the first time. Best fish & chips we’ve had. Generous portion of haddock with a light crispy batter. Chips were delicious too! Very friendly place that we would highly recommend!

Staff were not very friendly and rushed us through our order as though our custom meant nothing. Very expensive and underwhelming. We finished our expensive dinner with waste and felt like we’d been ripped off / easy targets.

We enjoyed a lovely fish supper on the advice of our guide Grant from Rabbies and it did not disappoint! We enjoyed haddock and chips which cost 10 pound for a large portion. We chose to sit in and eat. A must if your visiting Oban and like seafood.

We had fish and chips . Unfortunately it was the worst fish and chips weve ever had. We chose this chippy as it was recommended by Gino Fred and Gordon Ramsey. We wont be going there again. The chips were very dry and the fish was slimey with soggy batter. It went strraight in the bin be warned.

Best Haddock we’ve ever tasted! Come hungry…as the portions are generous! The proprietor was 3rd Generation. Anthony…a charming chap!

Not overly impressed. £31 for 2 x fish, chips, peas and a cup of tea. (In our local chippy that would be £19) It was just ok, absolutely nothing special.
