We booked for 1730 on Christmas Eve and knew that the restaurant was closing at 2000, but the first thing we were told was we had to order dessert if we wanted any. There was very little Christmas atmosphere, but the food was very good.

£4 for a bacon roll with 2 small slices of bacon. Very overpriced and not worth it would have been better going to

The servers at the deli bar were extremely unpleasant and unwelcoming from the minute we walked in. We asked nicely for a table for 8 when we were told that they couldn’t accommodate us in the restaurant which is fine. So then we agreed to just order from the counter for ease but the young woman with dark hair rudely refused to serve us because we were paying separately as “it would take too long to write out all the receipts”. Shame, she lost the business about £100 and a returning customer.

My first visit here was a lovely experience. Welcoming staff, cosy fire stove, delicious food and plenty of choice. Although it was busy the atmosphere was quiet and calm. We weren't rushed either. Certainly a place I'll revisit. Most enjoyable visit.Dietary restrictions: Plenty milk alternatives available.

Great find, with a really creative and flexible menu to suit anytime of day. Quality ingredients well cooked served in a cozy dining room... we will be back when we are in the Boarders again.

Well impressed by the salad food, had 3 types on large plate and they were all truly delicious. Very nice staff too. Thank you!

Our first visit was pretty nice but the second visit left a lot to be desired.. The coffee was weak, and then I noticed the older lady making coffee was splitting one espresso between 2 cups...not impressed. Along with that the service is poor, you'll be left waiting for a long time while staff and locals chat about their lives ignoring you. Back of house staff know what they are doing but front of house seriously need training and better manners. Won't be going back. Also our dog was constantly harrased by small children while we were trying to enjoy our breakfast. The prices on the menu are also wrong so it was a surprise when it came to paying the bill. All in all, not a great experience and not up to par with service elsewhere. Generally lazy and inconsiderate.Kid-friendliness: Reminded me of McDonald's. Kids were running around everywhere, screaming and shouting.

We had a great lunch on Monday after walking John Buchan Way from Broughton. Cheese tarts and yummy salads, deliciious sweets and fine coffee were matched by indulgent waiting staff and smile inducing prices. We'll be back!

Came for breakfast with friends. Plenty of space, even for a larger party. Had the dirty eggs and they were incredible - everyone enjoyed their meal. Coffee was spot on too. Service was attentive and friendly.

There's a nice restaurant room at the back of the café and deli, with good food. There is level wheelchair access down the side of the building (ask at the front door). Very helpful staff accommodating my companion in a wheelchair and brilliantly helpful when he felt ill.

Love to eat here but no one spoke or assisted in the 10mins I waited. Even to say “one moment” and acknowledge me. Was like I was invisible and although I could see lots of places to take a seat and eat I couldn’t be served. So disappointed.

We stopped in here for some lunch after staying at Peebles Hydro. It was quite busy inside, while waiting to get seated someone said if you order at the counter there is seating outside in the garden. Since it was a cracking day we did that.We both had the club sandwiches and the portion size was massive, great value for money and very fresh and tasty.Despite being busy we didn't have to wait to long for the food either. The garden seating outside was lovely, a great selection of tables all with options to have shade or not.It was clear the staff were busy, which is great to see, but had someone else in the restaurant not told us about ordering at the counter and the outside seating we might not have had such a great experience.

Delicious food. A big step up from the standard cafe fare.Large warm sausage roll, various tarts/quiches all with various freshly prepared salads. Was busy which wasn't surprising considering the quality of the food.

Hubby and I came for lunch a few weeks ago, had never been before but the place is lovely, staff where great and the food was wonderful. My husband even said the burger he had was so good its now set the bar for any burger he has elsewhere. Highly recommend.
