Edinburgh Rd, PeeblesAn impromptu lunch in this fabulous country house hotel, with their wonderful new lunch menu. An incredible array of fabulous sandwiches, inspired by Stockholm menus. Such a creative chef, with inspirational sandwiches. Dishes such as beetroot with Yorkshire blue cheese and toasted sunflower seeds, on beer yeast bread, and chicken with apple, curry mayonnaise, bacon and fried parsley.
Incredible service throughout from the entire team, with special mention to Eva for such attentiveness and charm.
We have booked to return for an overnight with the new chef’s tasting menu off the back of our lunch. So we throughly recommend a visit to have their relaxed dining experience in such a beautiful atmosphere.

Very busy but got impression owner/manager would've preferred if we'd booked as I wouldn't have said he was so welcoming. Maybe we'd just caught him on a very busy evening when a lot of people were coming and going. We probably won't be back anyway.

1862 A703, Eddleston, PeeblesDined here whilst staying at the Barony Castle hotel nearby. They were very busy and kept us informed of any delay, cause by a large part of dinners ahead of us. Despite this the food arrived in reasonable time and was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.

Green Tree Hotel, 41 Eastgate, PeeblesThe experience offered excellent value for money, with prices that felt very fair for the quality of food and service provided. The staff were attentive throughout, making sure everything was just right and adding a personal touch to the visit. One moment that really stood out was when the bald gentleman, Andy, if I remember correctly, broke into a cheerful rendition of “Happy Birthday.” It was such a thoughtful and light-hearted gesture that it genuinely lifted my spirits and made the day feel that little bit more special.

Mandarin Garden
3 School Brae, PeeblesOK, so I thought I’d found my favorite Chinese on this giant blue pearl in east belfast…..
….nope!! Mandarin garden even trounces it!
This is by far and away the most understated Chinese I’ve ever witnessed.
The staff were incredible, humorous, witty, knowledgable, and ingratiating.
The food was out of this world - by far and away the finest salt and chilli pepper chicken I’ve ever had, utterly mind blowing, and the vegetables were awesome, the rice perfect and were I to be glutinous I’d have gone back and tried the rest of the menu.
These guys are good - very very good!!
The little store is hard to find though, but bear in mind that this is a small village in south Scotland - nothing is easy to find - so I made a video (but it won’t upload here -( just look for the red door with the light on!!)

The Oven Door
24 High St, PeeblesReinstated my faith in having a Full Breakfast, after a previous experience (elsewhere) turned me off them. Get a pot of tea, it lasts you an age, but let it stew before you enjoy it. Would of missed this great place as there's little signage to shout it's praises, hopefully folk will see this and give it a go. Enjoy!

The Neidpath Inn
27-29 Old Town, PeeblesSuperbly located in the beautiful town of Peebles. Mike is a fantastic host and gave us a warm welcome.
The rooms have a separate entrance to the pub, up some stairs. Our room was big, bright and spacious with a super king-size bed and a low sofa which our dog loved. The bathroom was separate but it was not shared by other guests. There are tea and coffee making facilities with lots of lovely treats to munch on. The bed is super comfy. The only thing missing for me was a chair and little table or a small dressing table to do my makeup but I made do by sitting on the bed. A loo brush would be prudent in the bathroom too.
The pub is really pleasant. Traditional and comfy with a livery double sided bar. It's dog friendly and we found that in the back bar it's quite quiet which was great for our rescue dog.
They don't serve food but if you come out of the main entrance and turn right you have the Cozy café at the bottom of the street for bacon morning rolls or a toasted sandwich. Keep on walking and on the corner is another café which specialises in chocolate and the cakes and hot chocolate are to die for.
We ate in The Tontine and Central Bar plus The green Tree which were all excellent. The Cross Keys makes a delicious breakfast. For some fresh bread or rolls, The Fat Batard is superb.
We walked all over the place, lots to see and do, we loved taking the dog to the river for a paddle.
Great stay and a wonderful town. We will return.

The Dawyck Cafe
Dawyck Botanic Garden, Stobo, PeeblesI had a wonderful visit to the Dawyck Botanic Garden Café. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm and friendly welcome from the staff. The café has a fantastic selection of gluten-free food and cakes, with plenty of choice for both sweet and savoury options. It’s rare to find somewhere that offers such variety for those with dietary requirements, and everything I tried was fresh, well-presented, and absolutely delicious. The gluten-free cake I had was light, moist, and full of flavour — you wouldn’t have known it was gluten-free at all!
The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, with lovely views out towards the gardens, making it a perfect spot to sit and enjoy a break during your visit. It’s clear that a lot of care and attention goes into the food and service here. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in the area, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Dawyck Botanic Garden.

15 Northgate, PeeblesWe were meeting up with some friends and decided to order from these guys. A total of 6 adults and 1 child.
You can order on-line which makes things nice and easy. Also the menu is great for making allergens visible, making it easy to order if you have any dietary requirements, as a few of our party were vegan.
The food was ready to be picked up at the time we were told. They even threw in a few freebies which was very kind.
Anyway got it home and it was lovely and the portion sizes were very generous. In fact it kept us going for lunch the next day as well.
Probably one of the best Indian takeaway experiences I've had.

The fish supper was huge, had 2 x fish in it with fresh chips too! Impressive straight off.
Losing a star for the pizza. Why? It was burnt in some places *as can see* which made it taste like charcoal, other than that small downside, this place was actually alright.

Cardrona, PeeblesWe arrived late on, and the kitchen had started to tidy up, however we were still seated and offered both the main and bar menu to choose from. The service was great, and even though the kitchen was preparing to close for the night, the food served was of great quality!
Only disappointment was the service charge added automatically and not brought to our attention when paying.
