I've eaten here twice now and really enjoyed the food the second time around. Everything we ate was fresh and very tasty. The atmosphere is lacking as there have only been a few other diners while I've been there. My visits have been out of season, which may explain it. I refused the 10% service charge the first time but accepted it the second. Remember, you don't have to pay it!

A bit disappointed with the flavours and pieces of what we ordered. I ordered a paneer dish that had very little pieces of it (4) and mostly peas. Not really worth the price in my opinion. On the plus side, our server was pretty attentive and kind.

No atmosphere (only 1 table occupied on a Friday evening, rest of the restaurant was empty).Very grumpy staff.Really expensive for what you get. Even charging a 10% service charge whilst prices for the 'sit-in' menu are already higher than the 'take-away' prices.Food not the best, definitely not for the price paid.

Went here for a meal with my mum, I had phoned the night before to ask about gluten free dishes and was told that they can cater for that however When there I asked if the Pakora was gluten free and was told “I don’t know it might be” then told “we use wheat flour” which obviously means it’s not. A little bit clueless when it came to gluten free dietary however the food we did have was very nice.

The welcome was reluctant. The menu in the window has cheaper prices than indoors- misleading. The cost was ridiculous for the size and quality of portion- 5 small pieces of meat in a bhuna. Pressured up selling of side dishes. No choice of small or large drink so soft drinks sold in pint measures at the immoral cost of £4.50 each. The restaurant was cold and there was no atmosphere/ music.

Food is absolutely beautiful, best vegetable pakora we have tasted, crispy and succulent. The lunch menu for £10.95 is super value. If your out and about in Peebles please give Prince of India a try.

Visited as our other two favourite places in Peebles were closed and we were very hungry.. We thought that the food was OK but very expensive. Decor dated, tired and scuffed. The long handrails down to the gents loo's were absolutely disgusting covered in a thick brown sticky substance from top to bottom. Did not touch again after one touch. Gents loo not over impressive (literally bog standard) . Seems to have had its heyday 10 years ago judging from the awards displayed upstairs. I personally would definately not visit again but my wife disagreed......although she will be going on her own if she does!
