Terrible service. Terrible coffee. Average cake.Dietary restrictions: Charging for plant based milk is a little outdated.

I was at the Milkman yesterday. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the hot chocolate and cake were great! Highly recommended.

Excellent choice of beans, well made coffee and good choice of pastries. As a coffee lover, it's my favourite place to get a proper coffee in Peebles.Every time I've been there's been enough of customers to make it feel like there's some atmosphere but not so much as it feels crowded. There is sometimes a little bit of a wait, but the coffee is worth it, and it's only to be expected if you want someone to make your coffee with care. The staff are really nice and friendly, maybe not so much if you're imposing your puppy training on the other customers though. ?

Went for a cake and coffee with friends and my puppy. Received the most shocking customer service I’ve ever experienced. My puppy had a short cry when we first arrived due to a new environment and being a little scared. The young man serving was so rude - shaking his head, sighing, whispering under his breath in front of myself (he was actually swearing) and my friends. The young lady serving wasn’t much better - screwing up her face at me while literally taking my payment, also giving us the most awful looks, not a single smile. I have never felt so uncomfortable in a cafe and if I hadn’t already paid, I would have left. My puppy did not bother a single person in that cafe apart from the staff. After his little cry he sat asleep under the table the whole time we had our cake and drink. Please do not state dog friendly if this is how your staff are going to act - dogs are definitely not welcome. Horrible environment.

Coffee and cake really lovely, albeit a bit pricey. First, and last, time for me in this cafe, due to the rudeness of the female member of staff on duty this afternoon. Can I suggest if you don't wish to accept cash, maybe you could put a sign on the door saying so, rather than being rude to customers who are essentially paying your wages #morecustomercaretrainingrequired!

It was ok, the coffee isn’t as good as some other places nearby, served warm not hot and has a fruity undertone Small selection of pastries on offer but no other food so really just coffee Few tables and chairs but seems more like a grab and go coffee place The girl who was working was nice and friendly Don’t think it really has much to offer when there are so many other coffee shops here

This a lovely little speciality coffee shop. You cannot find any other speciality coffee shops around the borders that much, and that's why they are always so busy. Wonderfull coffee, great pastries and cakes. Good place to relax and have a chat.

Small but mighty coffee shop serving excellent drinks in a super setting. Cakes are always changing with interesting flavours and staff are lovely.

I’ve heard so much about this coffee shop and everything has been positive - I’ve equally wanted to visit for a while but it’s always been so busy! But today I spotted seats free by the window - perfect for my 3 year old daughter who loves a babychino and to watch the busses and Lorrie’s going by. Was greeted by a nice chap who took my order. Everything was fine. Fast forward 20 mins later….. a guy (who works there) came from nowhere behind me and said “sorry can you keep the lid on that bsbychino please to stop spills” but she had spilled a little bit. I mean she’s 3? Really? My daughter likes to stir her babychino and drink some with her spoon. When he saw she had spilled some he said “oh ok…. Fine. Well that’s why we serve bsbychinos in the disposable cups with lids but ok” Do adults not spill drinks too no? I really feel sorry for anyone who does because it’s obvious that it’s absolutely not ok if you do spill anything. How bizarre… do you not wipe over after someone has been sitting there anyway? Totally baffling. What was looking like a lovely coffee shop with good coffee has been tainted for me now…. Its been a lesson to make sure I stick with the actual local Peebles coffee shops because we’ve been in them many of times and never once has there been an issue over a very small child spilling some milk. Pathetic.

Looking for a coffee and found this place. I have to say the coffee was very good as was the collection of cakes/cookies. I opted for an Amaretti cookie and enjoyed it so much I ordered more to go. What I did not like was the fact they were loathe to take cash, asking for a card payment. Should have told them I didn't have one. This is the reason for the low rating and unlikely I will return.
