Staying in Peebles and fancied an Indian so chose to order a takeaway for two from here as looked good from the outside. We should have read the reviews, in short the food was very poor, lacking in any real quality. Easily the worst Indian meal I have ever had. H

We read some very mixed reviews about this restaurant but since we fancied a curry and the only other curry house in Peebles is carry out only we decided to take the plunge. Don’t know what the negativity was all about?? Staff polite and attentive. Menu expansive. We chose mixed pakora. Another review said it was amongst the best they had tasted. I suppose that’s subjective but I tend to go along with this. It was good: not crunchy and crumbly but soft and the chicken very tender. Main course butter chicken was a bit spicy for my wife but she finished it and enjoyed it. I had a special biryani. Pleasant although the prawns were tiny. Lamb and chicken good. Drinks fine. I was driving so was pleased to be offered a zero alcohol Cobra. The bill included a 10% service charge which one reviewer tried to haggle over. Service was good so happy to pay. Overall a pleasant experience.

The Prince Of India looks rather nice from the outside. £140 for 5 people costs half that in the city centre But the food is at best mildly average & very over priced a main will cost £10.95 compared or Edinburgh city centre restaurants they charge £7/8.50 Drinks were out of a bottle that tasted like it had been open for several weeks a coke will cost £3.95 again over priced Service charge of 12.70 for the worst service the waiter has no communication skills. I would definitely check your bill as we were to polite to challenge the bill at the time. I’ve added the receipt up & £20/25 extra was charged

Service was very slow and had to ask several times for drinks. Plates were boiling hot to the point that the waiter told us we could take one as it was too hot for him to pass ?.. Staff were ‘entertaining’. However, we cannot fault the food - it was delicious and worth waiting for! I think they are clearly having staffing issues which is a problem for all businesses and not their fault. Overall a good night was had!l - we had a good night!

A wee gem. Good old fashioned curry house, warm welcome from proprietor, stunning food. Tandoori grill absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommended.

We visited Peebles previous week where we noticed the menu. Unfortunately it was to early and the restaurant was closed. The menu was so interesting that we revisited the next weekBrilliant choice of food for meat eaters and veggies. My partner had mixed kebab which had flavoursome meats,As for myself I had mushroom stuffed with mince never had this before but will definitely have again.Once again something new for both of us Garlic fish and Kula Kata MassalamBoth dishes amazingbfull of flavours. The choice was so good made it difficult to choose Needless to say we will have to return to sample more. The place had a nice atmosphere bright and airy.Nice to have a wee break between coursesWould have no hesitation in recommending this restraunt

Food was nice but prices very high not sure I would return at these prices.

Dreadful and very over priced with portions that are Minuscule! Even have the cheek to try and impose a 10% service charge that I refused to pay but they tried ‘It’s the law in Scotland’ crap. We live in Yorkshire where you can get a curry at half the price, better quality and bigger portions…..what a rip off! Young lady waiting on was clearly fed up and couldn’t wait to leave, when she did and a ‘Senior’ took over, it was almost too much trouble to ask for anything and when I refused to pay the service charge he deducted the 10% took the money and disappeared

Best chicken dopiaza we’ve had since the Himalaya in Bruntsfield closed down. So enjoyed it. The nan bread was also excellent. Only one waiter who was serving in the restaurant and also taking the take away orders but he was pleasant and worked very hard. We did not have to wait long at all. Went on a Wednesday night and restaurant was not overly busy but enough people to give it atmosphere. We will certainly return when next in Peebles.

Lamb was chewy tasted like onion chilli garlic ginger threw in a pan with no real taste over priced, with a £3 delivery charge. There is other Indian takeaway in Peebles that are so more better. I won’t be going back, and like it says on the web site “unforgettable experience” never to return or get a takeaway! Not recommend at all,,, probably the worst place to eat from in Peebles…

Nice food but watch out for a service charge. Busy place seemed under staffed . Constant carry outs . If booking make sure you book a table away from the front door. Gents toilet location ? .

Visited with a friend while in a trip to Peebles. Waited 45 mins for starter which was average - had mixed pakora , quite greasy and not freshly made. Got one cube of ice in gin had to ask for more - no lemon or lime added. Main meal was average . Restaurant very busy with takeaways, not enough staff !! Both my friend and I have been unwell since visit - that’s been 3 days so far . I would avoid !
