It’s true…Effies carrot cake is the BEST! Our previous favourite was from Floors Castle (20 year old record), but Effies wins ?Wonderful traditional tea room backed up by excellent service…something that so many places just don’t seem to achieve. Great food. Book a table ?

Wow, this place is just amazing. The staff are lovely, the food is delicious. Highly recommend the Cullen Skink and Blueberry Scones ??I haven't tried their chips yet, but they look incredible. I just love the vintage look. It's fabulous. Booking is a must as they do get very busy during breakfast and lunch.

I travelled grom Edinburgh and visited Effie's with a friend on Saturday 16th September 2023. We walked around looking for a nice place to have a cup of tea/coffee then spotted this beautiful place. It was absolutely gorgeous inside and out. A lot of thought has gone into the theme of the whole place, with silver tea/coffee pots, sugar lumps that even had little covers on to keep off any flying insects that happen to fly in. The atmosphere was good, a bit of a fumble getting another table away from the draught of the open door, which understandably had to stay open for air. I'm always fussy about the tea I drink and this breakfast tea was lovely. I asked for a scone and could tell how fresh it was, home-baked and very light and fluffy. Lots of old photos of Perth from the 1900's on the tables, absolutely wonderful to look at. We can't wait to have another visit next time we're in Perth !

What a gem! Amazing experience for tea time with something for everyone in our family. The staff was fantastic at providing recommendations and the tea sets were unique and beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our tea, sandwiches, and their secret carrot cake.Kid-friendliness: The staff are pros at keeping things fun and interesting for the little ones

A charming place, it feels a little bit like you have stepped back in time when you walk through the door. With old paintings on the wall doilies on the silver sugar pots and old ceramics around. I can honestly say one of the best breakfast experiences I have had. Excellent friendly attentive service. A perfectly cooked Scottish breakfast (really good black pudding) all with the relaxing background of gentle classical music. If you are looking for breakfast in Perth you would be foolish not to give this place a try.

A delightful traditional tea room serving delicious cakes, soup, an array of bakes and an impeccably presented afternoon tea. Service is attentive, afternoon tea a very reasonable £15.95 (as of August 23) and all served in beautiful silver and china. And the carrot cake really is, as claimed in the menu, gorgeous! The atmosphere takes you back to the 19th century with light classical music and postcards and photos from Perth’s history cleverly displayed on the tables and walls. All in all a delightful place to spend a couple of hours and I could easily have topped up my tea and sat for longer but sadly not was closing time. ?It is a point to note that it is cash only but there is an ATM just up the street.

Never tried breakfast before, and it was definitely worth trying. The cutlery crockery, and China added to the unique ambience in staff are friendly and helpful. Food is fresh and sourced as possible. Nicely presented. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Perth— It is food, venue, and an experience.

Lovely quaint little cafe, perfect for afternoon tea, okd fashioned china tea sets, silver teapots and trays. You get one choice of sandwich, either plain or fruit scone and one choice of cake carrot, Victoria sandwich or lemon drizzle, all homemade and delicious. Would have liked it better if scones and cakes were bitesize with a little bit of each flavour rather than the large slice of cake and scone offered, but very tasty nonetheless.

Lovely afternoon tea. Don't mind paying for quality but 15.95 is a tad too expensive for a small sandwich, scone, cake and tea. Website is also incorrect with pricings and times for serving breakfasts (website said 12, board outside said 11.30 and we turned up at 11.15 and were told no more being served).

We went for a tea/coffee and cake. Last days of our Scottish highlands tour with family. Loved the authentic atmosphere like a time capsule. Tea and coffee was better than anyplace else until time (sorry but we didn’t find acceptable coffee anywhere). Carrot cake was amazing, good Victorian sponge and we tried a classic cake with dried fruits that I fell in love. Apple crumble was like at home. 32£ for 4 persons was so fair.It was an experience that we will remember, totally recommend.

Beautiful old-style place, excellent tea and cake. Totally worth a visit. Just the music was a bit strange, nice song, but the same single song all the time.

We stopped at this restaurant for lunch on the way to the airport. What a great restaurant. We ordered steak pie and the chicken& ham pie. Both were very well done and full of flavor. The puff pastry was very light and flaky. The steak pie tasted rich and the portion was just right. The chicken pie was also very tasty and the leeks gave it a nice touch. We also ordered teas and the carrot cake. The teas were served in original tea pots dating back to 1800s. The carrot cake was light and moist. The owner was very nice and gave us some background on the dishes as well as provided some tips for the travel.
