It was a lovely sunny morning and we thought we'd stop here for coffee and something to eat as the layout looked nice. The table, just in the shade, needed cleared and my wife went and got a waitress to come and remove the dirty plates/cups from the previous customers. She did so and then came back with a menu and said she would come back, clean the table and take our order. We sat and waited and whilst there, 5 cars came into the car park and we still hadn't had the table cleaned or our order taken.Now I understand that businesses are having staffing problems however the scenario to overcome this isn't new: serve the customers you can manage; politely inform those that you can't that there is a delay of....minutes but we will get to you; put signs on the table about clearing them etc etc. I also realise gauging foot traffic isn't easy either but poor customer service is not in my life good enough and it's a shame as Cafe48 looked nice. As 5 cars and passengers had arrived and our order hadn't been taken nor the table cleared we reckoned that it would be another while before we potentially got served; enjoyed the food; and so we left ☹️

Came across Cafe48 while out for a drive and it’s now on the list of places to go back to. First up, a spacious car park with a couple of disabled bays close to the entrance. Inside, the tables allow for plenty of space which would accommodate wheelchair/rollator. A good menu of meals, light snacks and fine pieces and the prices are very reasonable. We had coffee and cakes and both were excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient. There’s tables and benches outside looking on to a small garden area. The toilets ( disabled & women ) were immaculate. Will definitely return.
