British Restaurants in Portree

“Reservations are essential and parking can be difficult. With a reservation we were seated quickly. Service was great and the staff very friendly and accommodating. The food is good, not great. The duck starter was very good. It was a confit leg and a fritter. She isn't a fan of duck and I had to take it away from her so I could have some. I had salmon with chive hollandaise which was heavy and far too peppery; it overpowered the flavor of the salmon. The potatoes and baby broccoli were quite good. She had the lamb burger which was apparently chopped rather than ground. That, combined with a very crispy crust, made it difficult to cut since she didn't want the bread. The flavor was not bad, but a bit salty (no, she didn't add salt). Chips were very good.”

“Third visit, and each time excellent. The amazing cakes to choose from, and deserve the mention. Unrushed, friendly staff. It can get busy, but that's Portree for you.”
