Cafes in Portree

“The lads who run this operation cant do enough to make it a wonderful experience. The food is excellent and even our dog gave it 5 stars for their attention to her, offering fresh water and a choice of dog snacks. It really was the best part of our highlands holiday..thank you so much. Warning: portions are huge, so come hungry! Lovely fresh food and so tasty. It is set in a hardware store [Jans) which also is amazing, and full of stuff you need to buy…..”

“So after a little Google this place comes up highly rated, and oh how correct is this. A cute little cafe in the middle of Portree. Attentive and friendly staff! Quick food delivery and oh how good it tasted! I could wait to take my photo of my flat white and main together so excuse the pictures. The flat white was a proper flat white! Not a tiny latte as you usually find! The scrambled egg and chorizo was AMAZING! Thank you so much for the amazing visit. I shall be returning on my next trip to Skye.”

“This is without any doubt the best breakfast venue in Portree! In the past I have also sampled many other items on their menu...all are excellent too! Although the Red Brick could quite easily change their cafe they have obviously chosen to remain true to traditional fare and provide the best food and service at decent prices to their customers. Thanks to all their staff! Fabulous!Btw....its not an English breakfast as the recommended dishes section implies....its Scottish.... thankfully!”

“This was a place I scoped out before coming into town and had it on my "must-try" list before leaving Portree/Skye. We walked from our accommodations in town, and it was a lovely little walk on a pleasant autumn day after hiking up to Storr and down to An Corran beach. It was getting awfully close to closing time for them, so I was a bit concerned they might not have much selection, but they absolutely did. We picked up two packets of shortbread and a spicy sweet potato hand pie thing, which we devoured most of on the walk back to our place. We finished the rest of it alongside some other snacks acquired from the Coop for a very pleasant dinner. It was affordable and the items were well-made.”

“Third visit, and each time excellent. The amazing cakes to choose from, and deserve the mention. Unrushed, friendly staff. It can get busy, but that's Portree for you.”
