This was a place I scoped out before coming into town and had it on my "must-try" list before leaving Portree/Skye. We walked from our accommodations in town, and it was a lovely little walk on a pleasant autumn day after hiking up to Storr and down to An Corran beach. It was getting awfully close to closing time for them, so I was a bit concerned they might not have much selection, but they absolutely did. We picked up two packets of shortbread and a spicy sweet potato hand pie thing, which we devoured most of on the walk back to our place. We finished the rest of it alongside some other snacks acquired from the Coop for a very pleasant dinner. It was affordable and the items were well-made.

Popped in for a picnic lunch. Both the crustless quiche and filled bread were absolutely delicious. Planning to call in again on our way back through Skye!

We came across the Isle of Skye Baking Company at a craft fair stall. I really enjoyed the presto & cheese filled dough roll which I heated up later that day. We took gluten free cake & biscuits home for our daughters after a friendly chat that reassured us they were coeliac safe. They both loved them, 'these are great & don't taste or feel like sand!'. I had a lemon biscuit and had to agree, it had a nice strong lemon taste.Wish we could get some more often.

We bought two lunch breads at the ‘Thunder in the Glen’ to have when we got home. We heated them up but found them to be 3” to 4” of bread with very little filling. Disappointing; too much bread not enough filling.

Great place to get Artisan bread. Get there early for the best selection.

Best scones I’ve ever had! This bakery is owned by a cute family and we really had a lovely time there. You should definitely add it to your Skye bucket list!

Nice family bakery, great scones and great people! There is a cosy space where you can eat and relax upstairs.

Thanks for the great coffee, quiche, sandwich and delicious frangipanes Barry & Liza! I really liked the gallery too.

Sorry to give you 2 stars but your lunch bread is not good. I had the Brie and tomato (2 thin slices of tasteless tomato and a thin slice of brie), my husband had the breakfast lunch bread. Hardly any filling in them at all. When you purchase one you expect it to be filled, but only one part of it is. I would reckon 4/5ths is bread and 1/5 (if that) is the filling. Be more generous please!

This place is amazing.. even though it's not in the center of Portree, it is totally worth the visit. I can't eat gluten and here I found so many gluten free options. Cakes, pastries, beverages,.. there are some tables and you can eat there as well. I got the gluten free carrot cake (first time I tried it and it was delicious) and a chocolate cake.. they both were awesome, definitely recommended!

The only do take away, and also happens to be an art shop. It is open Wednesday to Friday: 10am – 4:15pm. There is also a wheelchair-accessible entrance and car park. Only scones were available and choices very limited. Looks like they have not fully recovered from Covid as potential is massive for them

Lovely friendly place to have lunch. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Delicious homemade soup and cakes to die for.

Well what can I say, amazing produce :). Lived on lunchbreads for a week and the cake (especially this Blueberry cheesecake I'm indulging in right now) are amazing. Can't wait to come back!

Yummy baked good! A great selection of gluten free and vegan options (ingredients listed which is really helpful for any dietary requirements). The chap that served us was very friendly too! Would recommend.

The Isle of Skye Baking Company is closed (see picture posted to door). We were disappointed to drive over to the Isle of Skye Baking Company to find that they are closed.
