We booked for 2 nights in our motorhome on the CL site, but when we got there, we fell in love with the place so asked if we could stay for 5 nights instead, it's absolutely beautiful and they keep it looking so lovely with lots of flowers about the site, they really care. Frances is so nice and friendly.

The absolute pits, room we had had never been cleaned, dust and cobwebs everywhere. Bathroom was not clean, the furniture in room was very old and falling to bits. But to make matters worse found a dead mouse in a trap and seen others running around room. I would not recommend that anybody stay here. It really is a disgusting place to be a b and b

Beautiful location and stunning scenery, the hosts were so friendly and kind and the breakfast was amazing. Such amazing value for money. I had my three dogs with me and they could roam freely in a safe area. I will be back and thank you for your kindness?

Great place, lovely location and looked after very well at a reasonable cost. The proprieter even offered a pack lunch for walkers, which you could put together yourself at breakfast. Cannot fault my stay.

I stayed for one night in the B&B accommodation booked through Absolute Escapes. I arrived just after 5pm on a Sunday, soaking wet after a long day trekking on the Southern Upland Way and having missed the servings of pub meals in the town which are served in the daytime on a Sunday. My lady host was fantastic, she took all of my wet walking gear and dried it out for me. She arranged for a take away to be delivered for 7pm so that I didn't have to go out again in my wet waterproofs. What was above and beyond was the advice and organisation I received for the following two days. I was put in touch with my host for the next day to adjust my finishing point with a pick up, so that the following day would then be a manageable distance. What a real difference this made to my trek, I am so grateful. My room was large and comfortable and I got a great nights sleep. Breakfast was excellent and I was left supplies to make myself up a very decent packed lunch. My host the next day at the Hopetoun Arms described my lady host as 'some impressive lady', I most wholeheartedly agree, I couldn't have asked for more!

We have all ready booked for next year what a lovely site we stayed on the CL Camping site with excellent views all around. It’s a lovely site in a beautiful and peaceful location. The owner, Frances Barbour is warm and welcoming. Its a short walk into the village of Sanquhar that has some great local shops and pubs having a wonderful museum free to visit, train station on door step with the oldest post office in the uk still operating, highly recommend this little gem. Looking forward to another Summer in this slice of paradise.

Very nice, quiet campsite just off the A76. Very relaxed atmosphere and lovely views over the hills and fields. It is a fully working farm so there is movement at all times of day but, to me and my partner, that just added to the charm. Will definitely stay again
