Just back from a 2 night stay .What a lovely hotel room was very clean and comfortable.Food was very good .Michael and the staff are excellent very friendly couldn’t do enough for you .Will definitely be staying

Nice little hotel with excellent food, catering for both vegan and gluten free. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. Only slight negative was a bit of traffic noise, but the hotel is on the main street so not unexpected.Food & drinks: I'd an excellent vegan curry for dinner, while my sister's gluten-free meal was also first class, she says. In the morning the staff made rxtra efforts to accommodate our breakfast needs. We're not the easiest to feed and this helpfulness was greatly appreciated. Very nice small hotel with exceptionally nice staff..

Dining only. Had steak pie which was really good. One of very few places to eat in the area on a Tuesday night, so we were very grateful it was open and serving food. Very quiet in the dining room so not much atmosphere, but the food was fresh, well prepared, tasty and efficient. Staff were friendly and our dogs were welcome, which was great.

This is one of our locals. Their steak pie is amazing, and the staff are lovely. Nice we bar eith a real fire, and we love the wee snug. Big function suite too, great for parties. Pool table.

I took my elderly friend out to see her friend, we came here for lunch. We all ended up having a roast dinner with all the trimmings. They looked after my needs as well, which was good, ensuring I could eat everything on my plate. Good service and good food. It's reasonably priced as well.

Had a wonderful Family Sunday Dinner today . Food was lovely, staff and service excellent and good value for money too.Forgot to take photos until dessert arrived. The roast meats and fresh seasonal veg were cooked to perfection and the homemade desserts were delicious. Staff very attentive too.
I stayed 6 nights and it was wonderful! The owner and staff made me feel most welcome and were warm and helpful, while also most professional. Efficient, clean, lovely service with a small hotel feel. I loved my room, great breakfast and charming pub. I would love to return to this gem in the beautiful town of Sanquhar!

Didn't stay so can't comment on rooms.Had a meal on The thursday evening & could not fault a thing the service, food, everything was spot on. Went back for Sunday dinner & were disappointed, the meat was dry, the veg & roast potatoes soggy. we found even getting a drink took at least 20 minutes & it was no busier than it had been on previous visit. Wouldn't recommend the Sunday dinner & would also suggest staff inform people when giving out menus if dishes are unavailable, we waited 30 minutes nearly to place our order to have to change it anyway.

This family owned hotel has the best location, right in the heart of town, near the train station and has a car pack behind it. They were always friendly and helpful! And I loved Jade’s labradoodle! They went out of their way to help us when we arrived without our luggage.

Stunning hotel with excellent friendly staff. We weren’t staying here but booked to have dinner in the restaurant. The menu was excellent for choice and very very reasonable. The hotel was absolutely spotless that even had amazing thick and beautiful carpets down. Jade the waitress who served us was lovely and friendly as well as very helpful. The portion sizes were very decent and the food was out of this world. We both had a 3 course meal each and 2 drinks which all came to £61! We were surprised by how little the bill was as we expected it to be more expensive. We are already talking about possibly booking an overnight at the hotel as it was so nice. There is a bar as well as the restaurant where sports are shown on the TV. It also has entertainment on a lot of the time and also caters for private functions! Beautiful hotel, amazing food at amazing price’s along with excellent staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel too anyone and I would definitely return.
