Headed to the Hawes Inn for my Fathers 80th Birthday on the 18th of December 2023 and we were all thoroughly delighted with the entire experience. There was a group of 11 of us and we had a wonderful Private area all to ourselves. I believe our host was the Manager, (Michelle I believe), and she could not have been more attentive. The food was not only wonderfully presented but fabulous in taste as well. The time spent has been fondly remembered and we shall certainly be back.Thank You.

Stayed here for the night, beautiful place. Can’t recommend, if you want a peaceful stay this is not the place. We had the unfortunate luck of being in room 6, opposite the stuff cupboard! Woken at 8:15am sharp to staff having morning catch up outside our door. From them onwards the cupboard door was opened and closed so many times and the main door from the hall down to the bar rattled on repeat with stuff going back and forward like a yo-yo. Check out here is at 12pm but you’ve no hope sleeping past 8:15am

My self and my husband went in on the 3rd of Jan. We had the sticky sharer the prawn bread crumb coating was teeth breaking solid and I'm not sure what else was on the platter but it was disgusting and all over cooked. I had chicken for a main that was dry and dripping in fat the green beans were like mush so over done. My husband had a burger that was solid and over cooked. We both had vanilla creme brulee for desert and the sugar on top was solid and burnt. I didn't eat mine it was so burnt. When asked how our meal was. I asked if the chef's were new as the food used to be amazing We were told they were . I explained how bad our food was and were told the information would be passed on and we then paid £89 for the privilege of eating probably one of the worst meals I've had from a resturant. We have been to the hawes Inn a few times and up untill now would of given it a 5 star rating but I'm afraid the food now it awfull . I wouldnt recommend eating here unless you like over cooked burnt food

We tried a few eateries in South Queensferry yesterday 6/01/24 as we decided to have a morning out.. we couldn’t get in to anywhere as we hadn’t booked. Are you supposed to know weeks in advance if you want to have a drive out and have some lunch. Not impressed.

Stayed with a friend on New Years Eve as a last minute stop off before flying home and it was such a delight I wish we had stayed longer! Rooms are gorgeous and comfy, lovely views and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Perfect!

I wish I could give 10 stars to the staff. Lovely waitresses, super helpful that go beyond what’s expected. The food was also spot on. I had the King prawns skewer, my partner had the chicken tights skewer, my friends had the la,b skewer and a venison pie. For dessert they had the honey pot, and we had the most delicious pavlova ever! The cocktails were also really good, and again, served by a nice barman.

Highly recommend this establishment! The food was great and the service faultless, friendly but professional, Caroline made our lunch a special occasion with her warmth! All I can say is thank you for a great lunch! As a wheelchair user it was a bit "tight" to manoeuvre the entrance through the back ramp and negotiating doors, but it's an old building so I managed it! And it was well worth it!!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here this afternoon. I had the duck and orange parfait to start and garlic prawn skewers with a selection of humus and flat breads and they were all delicious. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, would highly recommend.

My family and I stopped in for lunch after our trip to Incholm Island. Lunch at The Hawes Inn restaurant was the perfect end to our stay in the most beautiful country I have seen in my travels. The meal was absolutely delicious. The wonderful service exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious with wonderful presentation, the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable with a stunning view of the water. I had the Sea Bass & King Prawns. Sadly they were out of prawns but my choice was still delicious. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the fish & chips while my son devoured the signature burger. We ended the meal with coffee that was served with the most delicious little piece of heaven on the side (I wish I would have asked what it was), and an absolutely beautiful strawberry meringue dessert.

Hilariously poor veggie selection. The vegetarian roast was just a salty blob. Didn't even come with gravy. I had to request it an the 'chef' had to 'prepare it specially'.Table was sticky. Bill was large.Pretty sure a Toby carvery just better food for less even though it's the same company.Vegetarian options: Poor vegetarian options
