The restaurant in itself looks quite nice and the interior is pretty. We had a steak pie and sirloin. The dressing up of the plate, vegetables and all that were quite nice.Unfortunately after two bites I noticed that the steak was off. After smelling it and having my partner have a sniff too it was 100% certainly off.I'm not sure how it was possible for a steak that was meant for the bin ended up on my plate but it definitely made the experience taste a bit bad.Luckily when told about it I was given a new one, including more veggies which I did not need since I ate all of the already. Which was a nice added gesture. But it would have been better as a whole if that had not happened at all. But at least I didn't get anything bad from those two bites. The second steak was nice, which is why I'm giving 3 stars as a whole and not 2.But we won't be coming back again when we're around.

Chicken liver pate tasteless, steak pie very bland, vegetables very under cooked. Very pricey for the quality of food. Maybe it was just an off day, restaurant quite quiet initially. would not return due to quality for the price. A little tweak to ingredients it would be amazing food.

I have to say, the deserts are grate and a bit better than the actual food. The food & the siders are decent and the staff is great.

I don't normally leave bad reviews, but... We came on a Sunday and were hoping for a Sunday roast but there wasn't much left on the menu, which should have warned us. The haddock was really below average, was most likely reheated and almost leathery. The peas were hard and chewy. Reminded us of canteen food. Balmoral chicken was dry and the sauce had to do a lot of work. But what's really frustrating these days, that places charge a fortune (£17.50 each meal) which is taking the mickey - this is not ok for reheated, bland food! Nice pub for a pint and chips and lovely staff but food was really disappointing.

Excellent food and very welcoming hosts. The fireplace was just the best on a cold

25 of us - I opted for the Prawn Cocktail Starter, Vegetarian Lasagne (with feta cheese - abs delicious) and cancelled by Apple pie order as there was no way I could fit that in! Still charged as set meal price, but others who had it said it was scummy. The restaurant is stunning, beautiful log fire crackling away, service was excellent - and the Maître d was charming as she was welcoming. I live in Roybridge with my partner - will definitely be going back (now that we've found it).

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the food at this restaurant. The quality fell below my expectations, and the taste left much to be desired. It's disappointing as I had hoped for a more satisfying dining experience. I believe there's room for improvement in the overall food quality.

Walked four miles mostly up hill specifically for food as I read good reviews only to find the place closed, even though it had open online, really need to get this updated.

Wobbly table, not a great start. Service was okay, could have been better if we received a menu before asked for our drinks orders. Ordered the squid which was tough and the tartar sauce had a skin on it which made it look yellow and old. Had the macaroni for my main, a safe choice i thought. There was so sauce in the pasta and the cheese barely melted on top was oily and rubbery, usually i don’t mind a clearly frozen garlic bread with a good pasta… however to add a frozen side onto a poor pasta was not helpful with my feelings towards the meal. Not a single persons plate went back empty and half a steak (£40 or so plate) was sent back at the end. I’m hoping for anyone else that we went on a bad day but nonetheless it was extremely poor and a waste of money.
