Cafes in St Andrews
“Though this rustic, charming cafe was busy, I greatly enjoyed coming here for the tea and soup. I came here for my birthday, and though the staff were harried with all the customers, they provided kindly service. The soup of the day, butternut squash, proved a creamy autumnal delight, and I equally enjoy my steaming, sweet Earl Grey tea. Payment is easy here, and you can take as much time as you need with your food without feeling rushed. I recommend sitting outside and sipping your warm beverage and watching the excited crowds of people pass along the old stone streets.”
“Was in yesterday, had amazing scones with jam and cream, cakes looked good and very reasonable, would have been a pig to have eaten both but will go back, staff were lovely.”
“Very nice friendly staff and the food I had was delicious, I had the toasted sandwich with cheese ham and tomato with a side salad and dressing and crisps and a bottle of still water and I must say it was the best toasted sandwich I have ever had, it was on proper thick sliced bread that was so warm and tasty, no wonder they were so busy, if I am ever in St Andrews again I would definitely eat here again.”
“After a burnt breakfast and a slow morning I decided to pop in for a quick coffee and toasty. Both were done in 5 minutes and tasted great. A wonderful start to the day!”
“Sat in side had a coffee and a cake with an old lady in wheel chair lacked a bit of empathy to customers as no staff seemed to be bothered to help in any way plus the cleaning was a lot to be disired maybe it was just the time of day ? ”
“Great student cafe. Prices are good, coffee and food are decent. Service is nice and all profits go back into the student union.”
“Dietary restrictions: Had to get gluten and dairy free for my son which was accomadated ”
“Decent Starbuck with pleasant staff. There isn't a lot of seating but it's reliably clean and service is fast enough to be a good take away spot.”
“We visited St Andrews and decided to visit Mitchell for brunch and didn't disappoint. The breakfast was really tasty, black pudding was a standout and really liked the touch of the homemade beans with it. The only thing I could say was missing was a sausage, there was no lorne or pork sausage with the full breakfast but other than that it was perfect, my parter got avocado toast which she loved for a light bite. The coffee was really nice as well I had a flat white with gingerbread syrup and it was fantastic.Would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting St Andrews.”
“What a find. Quirky small cafe with a range of breakfast rolls and toasties. Reasonable prices with no frills good honest food. Coffee and a bacon roll hit the spot. Interesting decor inside and some outside seating.”
