The Seafood Ristorante
Bruce Embankment, St AndrewsIt was quiet on the Friday night we were in, except for a noisy toddler at a nearby table. Kinda annoying when we were spending so much, esp as the staff never acknowledged it in any way. The food was delicious, but so it should have been at the price!!

Greyfriars Inn
129 North St, St AndrewsNeeded semi last minute accommodations at St. Andrew’s and this was the most affordable one closest to the old course. Was super close to the first tee, and they allowed me to check out and keep my bags in their office the day I was able to get a tee time. Breakfast offerings were good and pub was lively, if I’m back I will be staying at the Greyfriars!

5 Alexandra Pl, St AndrewsDidn’t try the food, but I’m sure Irish food is class. The service was decent like every other pub. We went there to watch the champions league arsenal vs Porto, which surprisingly a lot of Scottish uni kids are a fan of. lolBut my highlight to the day was the girl who was performing live music xI’m a tourist at St Andrews so not sure if she sings everyday, but do want the pub to let her sing with a non football and a bit quiet audience. She’s an amazing singer with a lovely voice!

Jahangir Tandoor Restaurant
116 South St, St AndrewsFor sumptuous and flavorful Indian food, you could hardly do better than here, and the prices are so reasonable. The light soup, tinged with a distinct lemon flavour, provided a pleasant starter course, and the lamb curry provided such a burst of rich delight. One can easily discern that this place uses the best and freshest ingredients: the lamb chunks are moist and hefty, and the seasoning has a wild vitality to it. Best of all, perhaps, is the enormous swath of naan provided: I've never seen such a large chunk of it in my life. The atmosphere is soothing and serene, perfectly befitting an Indian restaurant, but the food is the primary draw. Come here if you want some of the best Indian food in Fife!

The Road Hole Restaurant
Old Station Rd, St AndrewsWe were staying in the hotel and had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Both meals were very good with friendly staff. Dinner menu is focussed towards meat eaters but we had lovely fish and vegetarian dishes. As it is fixed price for 2 courses at dinner then it does seem expensive for non meat eaters especially when adding in cost of side dishes. Food was lovely though and beautifully presented. Great views over the golf course and up to the buildings of St Andrews itself.

Dr Noodles
84a Market St, St AndrewsIt is a bit cramped inside, but if you are wandering the streets of St Andrews looking for delicious noodles, there are far worse places. I wish the music or atmosphere were a bit more transporting, but one comes to a place like this primarily for delicious food, and in that respect, it gridley satisfies. To the woman who gave us an extra few prawns free of charge, I extend my gratitude. But even without that bonus, these noodles are extremely robust. A single normal sized portion is enough to satiate the appetites of two people easily, or to give one person two meals. I highly recommend this unassuming little locale.

The Canny Soul
81 South St, St AndrewsOne of the coziest and most comfortable places in St Andrews, with great food and a soothing ambience. It is not a large place, so do not come in here with a group of 20 friends, but come here by yourself or with one other person and relax and listen to the soul music playing on the radio. Compared to other cafes I've been to in St Andrews, this one feels more intimate. Buy a toastie and a cup of tea and feel yourself insulated from the chaos of the outside world. Being here made me feel wistful and vaguely nostalgic. That was in part because the art and music reminded me of back home in America, but it's more because this place captures the atmosphere of a soft and vibrant memory dreamily remembered.
