Very expensive for-fish in chips x and the fish is small x I can get a fish supper from my local chippy for £8 and it’s a lot better x I like St Andrews as I drive taxis but it’s an absolute rip. off prices for food !!

When I spent one day in St. Andrews, The Tailend was recommended to me. Having lunch was not the cheapest, but quality of fish is definitely high, the meal was very delicious, portions generous and service convincing, too.

The food was very fresh and extremely flavourful, portions a bit smaller though for a single meal but fine if you want to try multiple options - like all takeaways they have a separate menu for dine in but their dining area behind is very well done and nice place to have a good meal.

Ended up here after we were on our way to Anstruther fish bar wish we hadn't now. Prices are just ridiculous I could understand if the food was good but my local chippy makes a better fish and chips. Staff was friendly enough tho but my biggest concern was I was charged £28.50 for a half portion of haddock and chips and a latte, haddock and chip was £14.95 and a latte was £3.95 the two kids got kids meals but because they were under 12 kids eat for free so I'll let you lot do the maths. I didn't question it I just paid and left to save causing a scene. Wish I went to Anstruther instead definitely won't be back here ever.

Possibly the best chips in Fife. Nicely cut and deep fried. All the staff a smiley and friendly. A real jewel in a competitive town centre.
Lovely smart restaurant, clean and comfortable. Small menu but the fish and chips was excellent, as was the burger. Great service too and a good price for a lunch. Definitely recommended.
