Excellent scones and rose tea as well.

The place was quite small but nice nonetheless, the staff very friendly and helpful even though there was a lot going on. The food arrived quite quickly and other than the cake, nothing tasted that good. The mac n cheese was just some noodles with butter really. The sandwiches were very plain too. Bottom line: coffee and cake is great, everything else not worth it.

On a cold winter day, we popped in for a lovely plate of homemade soup, we were not disappointed. We were in a bit of a rush but could not leave without some fabulous carrot cake which I enjoyed at home. Lady boxed it up so it was

Would highly recommend. It was very busy when we arrived and we were offered a table at their marquee at the rear. We were hungry and it wasn't too cold so that was fine. Was excited that you could have a cup of Cullen Skink with my Croque Monsieur, so I opted for that. The soup was a meal in itself, packed with fish and potato. The sandwich was equally as good. Very efficient and friendly service and very good value for money. There are plenty of cafe options in St Andrews, but I would recommend you head for the Cottage Kitchen.

Friendly staff, tasty food and reasonably priced. St Andrews is filling up with bigger chain shops so it is nice to support something independent.

I would highly recommend this cute wee cafe in the centre of St. Andrews.Every table was full ( which speaks volumes for the food and service). We went for a takeaway of soup and it was delicious. The soup is always vegan and gluten free as stated on the menu board which was fab as we struggle to find home made vegan soup when out and about. The service was great too! Will definitely be back and recommend to others!Thank you ??Dietary restrictions: Vegan options

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our visit. Cafe is well located in central St Andrews and our welcome was very friendly but things went downhill from there. Food (which was pretty bland) arrived before our drinks (drinks actually arrived at the end of us eating our food, and the milk served with the tea was off as it left floaters). We weren't the only ones having issues with service and 2 out of the 3 staff we saw really didn't seem to care . I'd always try and support an independent business, but I doubt I would return.

A very pleasant surprise find this afternoon after the place we expected to visit was closed. Left in limbo and feeling hunger pangs we began a search and fortunately came across this place first. From outside it looked promising and we could see a very enticing selection of baked good at the servery, A quick inspection of the lunch menu showed further promise and once inside we were warmly greeted and promised a table within 5 minutes as the groud level was full. However agreeing to sit upstairs we were seated immediately. There was the unmistakeable scent of cullen skink which was irrestitable. Once seated the menu proved to make chosing a challenge because so much was appealing. We settled on a mug of soup and toasted snadwhiches. One cullen skink and a croque monsiuer and one carrot and corriander and a mushroom and gruyere. This was accompanied by latte and decaf tea. Everything was absolutely delicious and filling. There are only 2 tables upstairs and we struck up a conversation with 2 lovely ladies at the next table about the curious high window. All the servers were friendly and attentive. Service was timely and all in all it was a great experience we look forward to repeating soon.

I had booked Cottage Kitchen out our works Christmas Dinner for 21 people. I spoke to the owner, Grant and the manager beforehand to help organise this. They were very fast with response to e-mails and provided a menu for us to order from which contained a good range of foods. We pre-ordered our food as a group. The venue itself is very nice - small and cozy vibes. We had the whole place rented out too which was good because we could play our own music and sing as loud as we want. The waiter was grand and the food was really nice. We had charcuterie board to start, then beef for main and then pie for dessert. It was £35pp +10% service charge which i think is very reasonably priced considering how much some places are charging for a christmas dinner these days. Overall, would recommend - it is a nice local business and we should be supporting!!!

Had breakfast here and enjoyed it very much but the tea was not nice at all, far too strong and wasnt served with hot water on the side. The cafe appears to reserve a lot of tables for later in the day when they could be used a few times before that, or as its just a small place dont reserve as its always busy anyway.

Lovely spot. Informal cafe. We had breakfast. Didn’t wait long for a seat. Very good service. We had cooked breakfast each and coffees. Coffees were delicious. Served at the perfect temperature and just right. Thankyou.

Our favorite breakfast / brunch spot when in St. Andrews. Great food, a cozy setting, and the staff is warm and welcoming. A special shout-out to Sarah, who could not be more accommodating or charming.

Stopped in for light lunch and the food was very tasty. Most of us had soup or Cullen skink or sandwich. When ordering we said we would order coffees after as likely have cake . After having finished waiting to order waitress came up and said do you want to pay… we advised we were waiting to order coffee etc. She came back after we had them and asked again did we want to pay . We were taking excessive time we would have been quicker if service was better. Positives though food was good and dog friendly throughout

Collected from them today as part of a Mystery Picnic booked via a third party. (one of several stops to collect items from)They clearly weren't expecting us despite having booked many weeks in advance, all other locations knew we were coming and had items ready. We were told the menu had changed and the expected items were no longer available (a sweet potato dish) and the alternative would be a sandwich - absolutely fine, but on checking what we were given there was 1 very hastily thrown together sandwich (our experience was for a family of 4)Closer inspection of the menu reveals that the sweet potato dish is still being served and I suspect that given they had either forgotten we were booked, or hadn't checked emails so had no clue at all that we were coming, this is why we were given a sandwich instead. It's a small and busy cafe but my initial thought would be that I wouldn't return given that they don't appear too bothered about the mystery picnic experience they have signed up to.*Edit in reply to the response below. At the time of writing the above review, the menu online clearly showed the sweet potato salad, this was then confirmed to us over the phone and in writing by Amazingco who also confirmed they had no recieved no such update regarding a menu change.I suggest you ensure your own facts are correct before responding to a customer.Staff very clearly had no clue what the mystery picnic was given that they were overheard asking each other what it was and how it works.I stand by my review as written. We did not receive what was advertised and we were very much under the impression that we were an inconvenience.
