If I could score it a ten I would.....10/10 experienceWhat could you want more than a delicious freshly cooked to order fish and chips on a cold, wet, windy Scottish day!Fish and chips were cooked to perfection, straight from the fryer. Didn't feel like the oil was old or greasy, the batter was super crispy and the chips were lovely and fresh.A little slice of lemon as well was a lovely touch.Small fish and chips was great value, just over £5 a head. I wish we had time to try more of the menu as there was an incredible selection, including options for those with some allergies.Staff couldn't be more accommodating and lovely, great chatting to the lady on the till while we waited for the fish to be cooked.

Drove up from Dundee for a chippy and walk by the harbour. One of the most underwhelming chippy i have ever had. Both our chips were undercooked and fish overcooked. 60p is ridiculous for a sachet of sauce. When you’re spending over £10 for what was a small fish supper you could at least add some sauce. No pickled mussels available either. No irn bru cans. And no cutlery offered. Went straight in the bin unfortunately.

I just want to start off by saying I really like what the place offers. From the locally sourced ingredients, eco friendly packaging, and the sleek and modern design. The staff were also friendly. Although neither of us require gluten free items. The menu was really accommodating and inclusion is important. However, our individual experience of the food was really disappointing. The chips are really thick cut and do not absorb the seasoning of salt and vinegar well. We have been trying hard to describe the flavour of the chips, and for us, it tasted like burnt oil and this matches the smell/aroma in the shop itself. I understand a high pricing structure for high quality and locally sourced ingredients and I support that however this was not value for the goods we received on the day. There was also a wee wait for the food which usually is fine as it is an indicator of being cooked to order but what we received doesn’t compensate for the wait time. Both my boyfriend and I left most of our chips. The sausages were ok. A little seedy but that’s not unusual for chip shop sausages.I’d be reluctant to come back in a hurry.

Lucky we got there early as crowds started arriving. Friendly, gluten free aware staff, all certified sustainable haddock, eco-friendly packaging and cutlery. The huge platter special was only £8.20 including a huge salmon fillet, smoked haddock fishcake and nicely cooked piece of haddock. Chips were nutty and proper non-puréed mushy peas. They let you know what fishing boat brought in the haddock and what farm raised the spuds. Member of the Sustainable Restaurant Association and winners of many awards. Totally delivered on their promise and amazing value!

We hired The Bay on the Road fish and chip van for our wedding & the food was outstanding. The fish was unreal, I'm sad I only had time for one serving! Our guests absolutely loved it. The service was great and went so smoothly, thank you so much again!

Huge disappointment. We were missing one of our orders and I went to check with the staff. The lady told me to queue up again ??? I tried explaining that they forgot to give me one of my orders, but the staffs had no intention to help us even though we had already paid for the food.Would not recommend, you’ll just be paying for the poor service and no food.

Fifth visit I've had to this place in around three years and all I can say is the place is five star.Food, fantastic!Staff, friendly.A fantastic fish supper, on a summer evening, watching the tide go out. What more could you ask for?

It was very average fish and chips. Small to medium sized fish and average chips. The curry sauce was quite sweet to taste. The service was really quite slow considering the number of people about and staff on service. Although I also thought it was quite ignorant when those who were queuing had to wait while all staff tended to online and phone orders instead. However, all food was cooked to order. The reusable hot/cool bags to take your order away in for £4 are a great idea though and worth an extra star for that.

The best fish and chips! Made even better by it's location right by the sea for the ultimate chipper experience ?

Found the food strictly okay and portions were small overall. It’s cooked fresh and therefore takes long, but the chips were soggy and they charge you 60p for red sauce which is a bit cheeky considering it’s not a cheap meal. The scampi batter was salty but the chips were tasteless (I only salted my chips separately)A lot of people have given really good reviews but as someone who lives locally in Scotland, I’ve had far better and wouldn’t go back. It’s won a lot of awards, but there are better chippies.

Went there as a treat on our trip to Scotland, very busy shop. Our order was taken prior to coming to the counter, all food freshly cooked prices good. We had small haddock and chips. Fish was nice but chips appeared overdone very dark and needed lots of salt. OK but did not blow my mind
