Excellent food, interesting mixtures of tastes and textures. Unhurried fine dining. Great choice of Burnside Brewery beers and Speciality Gins and mixers. We keep returning - never disappointed.

Visited with friends and were extremely well looked after by our waiter. Service was perfect and the food (and choice of food!) was brilliant. Will definitely be back.

It’s been a while since I’ve tasted a plate of food and thought wow, but that is exactly what I done when I tasted the BBQ Monkfish in the crab and ginger bisque. Popping with flavour. Superb. Also had a taste of the BBQ lamb it it was perfect. After just moving the the area, we think the stack has become our family’s go to when ever we fancy a treat.

Amazingly good food as always!

Food was fabulous. What let it down was the fact there was only one member of staff dealing with the bar and restaurant so service was a bit slow. Attention to detail needed with regards to the cleanliness of the cutlery and glassesParking: Small car park and difficult to find a space even at early evening

Food was good. Service a little slow having to wait some time for our meal. Table next to us had the same problem having to wait for desert in a restaurant that was half full. Biggest problem for me is that the restaurant allows dogs to enter. The table next to us had two dogs that were not well behaved. Growling at other diners when eating and barking for tip bits off their ownets which they were constantly giving them which was obviously rewarding the bad behaviour. At one point one of the dogs jumped up on the table and licked it's owners plate. None of the staff asked them to move to the outside eating atea or even rhe bar area. I am a dog owner myself but the restaurant should seriously look at its policy and allow dogs in the bar area, not in its seated restaurant. A nice evening ruined by selfish dog owners, a bad policy and staff that couldn't read the situation.

Nice and cosy atmosphere. The food was excellent. The only thing I could fault is the lack of proper food and beverage training of the serving staff, they where all friendly but had a lack of basic serving skills. All and all an enjoyable evening.

The Stack is well worth seeking out, and is only a short distance from Aberdeen, in a tiny coastal village. It is tucked away behind some houses but well sign-posted. Whilst the exterior is unprepossessing, the interior is pleasant and cosy. Staff were friendly and service was efficient. The menu has interesting dishes as well as some standards, with enough choice to please most tastes; vegetarions are well catered for. The specials we tried were particularly good - the lamb tagine and the elderflower poached pear. Some of our group had the roast dinner which was reported to be also very good, and the portions were huge! We will be back.

Our second visit after a lengthy absence. Didn't realise it had been so long, but COVID, etc ...Anyway, excellent starters and main courses, reasonably priced and helpful, friendly staff (run ragged when we were there but taking it in their stride). Will be back a bit sooner next time.

Quite some time since we have been to The Stack, largely due to Covid. We met friends at The Stack for dinner on a Thursday evening, and we were pleased to find it was quite busy. We met at the bar and were offered the chance to go to our table or wait until the starters were ready. We chose to wait in the cosy bar area. There is a great menu, and lots of options were tempting. My husband had the Salmon starter, and the other gentleman chose the Cullen Skink. Both were great - large amount of salmon, and the soup was nice and hot. I chose the Chargrilled Chicken with Satay sauce & Thai fried rice. Like the option to choose the sauce and the accompaniment. My friend chose the BBQ Monkfish Tail And Langoustines in Vietnamese crab and ginger bisque with cardamon steamed rice & pak-choi. My husband opted for the Roasted pork belly, sherry braised cheek, croquette of pulled shoulder and soy bean, fermented sweetcorn puree and wild mushrooms, and his friend chose the North Sea Haddock in Ale Batter with triple cooked chips/skinny fries, crushed peas & tartare sauce. We all enjoyed our main courses very much. My husband and my friend couldn't pass on dessert - a Sticky Toffee Pudding and a Rice pudding. They very much enjoyed their sweets. We had very good and pleasant service from a couple of you lads. With 4 large glasses of red wine, a coke, two no alcohol beers, and two coffees our bill for the four of us came to £146.10.

I am not inclined to leave negative reviews but I was very disappointed by my meal last night as I left the place eating nothing in end. I ordered pigeon to share for starter and japanese spiced langoustine. Unfortunately the pigeon was cooked rare/ medium rare in parts instead of expected medium well and so I couldn't eat it as I am pregnant, I usually ask for beef and lamb but forgot to ask if pigeon would be served rare as it's usually stated or asked. The langoustine was cooked but just covered in a seasoning that I just didn't like at all and the sauce and salad dressing was the same so couldn't eat any of it without triggering pregnancy nausea. I understand this is a preference but was more upset over the fact that there was only one other customer (as it was a early sitting) and we didn't get asked about any of our food until my partner had nearly finished his over 30 minutes in when it was clear I was not eating. I got asked if I wanted something else but by this point it was simply too late to order as we were told I'd have to wait at least 30 minutes. Unfortunately there was no real apology until we said we were surprised that we had to pay full price for a dish I barely touched and the chef came back with that's how its cooked. I still feel however, some sort of discount or drinks could have been taken off at the very least given the lack of service and that I went home very hungry and has to make another meal. Very sad as this is probably our last meal together before baby comes in 3 weeks. Needless to say I will not be back nor recommending this place to others.

I liked my beer. Nothing else. The pigeon tasted like a bad liver while it is supposed to be tendered and light in taste. I usually love pigeon but could not eat my meal. The chef told the waiter that it was cooked perfectly fine. It does not change the fact that it was terrible. Took one bite of it only but had to pay for everything and the waiter even asked for a tip while there was no service at all as they came to check on the meal 30-45min after serving it. So I could not even ask for something else. I would not recommend going there.
