He was really passionate about the Whisky and made the night an unforgettable experience with his knowledge and effort. Wonderful drams for any price range.Our hostess was fantastic - incredibly knowledgeable and friendly.The place itself is a wonder: dark, velvety, comfortable. Just ask a worker in the Fife Arms how to get back to Bertie's - it really is tucked in a hidden corner of the hotel.

A totally unique experience that everyone (Whisky expert or not) can enjoy. The room is beautifully set up with hundreds of illuminated bottles, a fireplace and cosy armchairs. There can't be many people who know more about whisky than Angus does, and he was an excellent host: welcoming, entertaining and extremely informative. Whilst you could easily spend hundreds of pounds on rare drams here, there are plenty of affordable ones and they will find one that you will love for sure. Can't recommend highly enough for anyone who enjoys a nightcap - I will be visiting Bertie's whenever I am near the area, for sure!

Hands down the most amazing whisky experience I've had the pleasure of enjoying. The bar is beautiful. Cosy, warm, and welcoming, with a snug/speakeasy atmophere. Perfect place to warm up after a wintery walk!We were served by Angus, and I was totally blown away by his knowledge and easy charm. Flawless, and good humoured, sevice that made for a magical evening! I was pretty intimidated by the sheer volume of the whiskys on offer, but he quickly put me at ease, picked out some incredible and varied drams for us to try, and was full of knowledge. Well worth a visit!

I LOVE whisky and THIS was the best experience ever. The bartenders were so knowledgeable, we threw them a dram we liked and they presented us with three amazing options to expand our pallet. They were respectful of our budget, gave us an unforgettable memory and the ambiance was exceptional.

I used to think the idea of finding hidden gems was gone, but Bertie's definitely qualifies. Tucked back through a couple of dining rooms at the back of Fife's Hotel in Braemar, is the best Whisky lounge I've ever encountered.Everything about Bertie's from the velvet chairs you could fall asleep in to the lighted cocktail tables adding some ambience to your chosen bottle, was meticulously designed for the perfect whisky tasting experience.But the best part by far was our host, Angus. Angus is a young man who has an unmatched knowledge of, and passion for, scotch whisky. He seemed to know everything there is to know about the history, the process, distilleries in operation and ones that had closed, and every bottle and flavor.

Meticulously designed down to the shadows, the ambiance of Bertie's provides the best whisky drinking experience I've had yet. Angus is the perfect bar host, with an expansive knowledge of Scotland's best spirits, and a curiosity and energy befitting of someone who truly loves to not only serve drinks, but also educate. We really enjoyed the nightcap here, especially when our barman from before dinner earlier on the other side of the hotel, Matthew, came over at the end of the night and joined the conversation. Incredible place, a must see in Scotland.
